So this review is based on experience with the staff not the food. I really enjoy their food which is disappointing since I won’t be going back, here’s why. Went there for lunch, bill came which was around $38.50. I put two twenties on the tray, expecting my change back then I’d leave a $5 tip on the table. When the waitress seen the $40 she asked if I had any change which I was confused by, then looked at my partner and asked them if they had any change, we both said no. She then proceeded to tell us that the change from the $40 was not a 10% tip, it’s not enough money. She then processed to tell us that we dined in and didn’t take out so we have to tip. This felt so rude and entitled, especially because I had money to leave for a tip and when paying cash I always leave the tip on the table after the bill has been settled. Literally felt like I was eating at a restaurant in the states where staff chase you out the door if you don’t tip. After she says her piece about us not tipping she leaves and doesn’t take the tray with the bill or money, expecting us to put more down or take it back and pay card. We ended up just putting the $5 on the table and left, but we will NOT be eating here again. In my opinion tipping is not expected, it’s earned, and this “tipping culture” is way...
Read moreAs our landlord was replacing our kitchens, I ordered from Pho Pad Thai in Aurora for the first time. I am a long time aficionado of both Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. I am a little more familiar with Vietnamese. My order when it came was a huge disappointment. The most important failure to me was they included no utensils to eat with!!! As all my stuff was packed away and I could not access it, had to literally eat with my hands. I love sour sop drink and ordered it. When it came, I could hardly taste the flavour of the soursop (was it watered down?) and found a piece of paper in the drink at the bottom. I ordered the spring roll meat balls and minced shrimp on a sugar cane and noodles. Again disappointed. The shrimp tasted more like a fried dough and there were a few very small meatballs. Please remember that when you say you are a provider of Thai and Vietnamese food, you should strive to provide an honest example of your cuisine and not a cheap version to customers you think might not know a lot about the...
Read moreUnprofessional Staff. I had a pho soup and I was not happy with the taste. I decided not to say anything and just not leave a tip. The waitress came and saw the bill I just paid and call me while I was heading out and said out loud that I didn’t leave a tip and that I have to leave 10%. I said “ok” then I wanted to go and she said again that I have to pay tip. I said “ is it mandatory?” She said no. I said “ok” then she continue her argument and I said “ I will not stand here arguing with you about leaving a tip that is not mandatory. And left. My stomach hurt to a point I threw up for the bad moment she made me experience in front of the people that were there eating. There could be many reasons why someone doesn’t leave a tip and it needs to be respected. Not for her to argue about it in front of others. Now I see that other posts talk about finding a worm in their food! I am more than sick now and it explains why the soup...
