Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Barrie

Unfortunately I have to share a negative experience. The issue was with both the local store in Barrie and Jersey Mike's in general. We had attended the store once previously and were pleased with our meal. A couple of weeks later I was home without a car and decided to placed an order online with specific instructions. When it was delivered it was obvious none of the notes on the order were read. I had asked for VERY light oil and vinegar - it was sopping with oil and vinegar, I requested to add mayo - no mayo, I had requested to swap American cheese instead of Swiss - no swap and I had asked for extra tomatoes - instead only 2 slices of tomatoes. I recognize this is a high maintenance order however $20 for a sub is a high value item and a fair trade in my opinion. I ended up tossing the sandwich after a couple of bites. My biggest complaint though is not with the actual sandwich. I get it, the store is busy and the person doing the prep missed the comments. My complaint is the complete lack of response from the store and the company. I immediately called the store to let them know what happened. I was hoping they could remake the sandwich. The person on the phone said he was unable to resolve this but would have the manager call me later in the day. I said that was fine and left my cell number. After 10 days and no communication from the store I used the corporate websites customer service portal. That was over 2 weeks ago and similar to the store I have not received a response (and I have checked my junk mail folder daily to ensure I didn't miss it). I know my email went through as I did get an automatic reply to the submission saying they had received it and would be in touch. I understand new businesses have kinks to work out when they open. But a complete lack of response to customer complaints both locally and corporately is not a good business model. For my part, we won't bother eating there again however if the store manager reads the reviews they may want to make sure that they address complaints in the future to avoid...

The service was great and the staff were very friendly, but unfortunately the food didn’t live up to the hype. From the first bite, the subs were a disappointment the bread was soggy and the overall flavour was lacking. We ordered the #8 and #13 giants, and for almost $50, it just didn’t feel worth it. Half of it ended up going to waste because of how soggy it was. The experience itself was cool, especially watching the meat being sliced fresh in front of you, but overall it felt overrated for the price. I left feeling pretty disappointed, and honestly a bit upset about spending that much money on something neither my husband nor I enjoyed. Everyone has different tastes, and maybe this place just isn’t for us, but I can’t say I’d recommend it. If you like well-seasoned food, this might not be the spot for you I didn’t even notice salt or pepper on the subs. I went here as per the recommendation of a friend, and wow, absolutely blew me out of the water. For one, the food was insanely fresh and high quality, the deli meat is cut right in front of you, but a lot of restaurants do that level of freshness.

What blew me away was their customer service, it was on another level! I deal with customers all day, I do marketing in the winter, customer service is my job and wow, this place does it fabulously! They greet me at the door extremely politely, they chat with me as I'm ordering, asking me questions, making sure everything is perfect, something that is a nice change of pace after dealing with customers all day!

I can tell that the management takes great pride in how well the store is run, how smoothly everything is, and how polite and courteous everyone is! I was going here with high expectations, and I was blown away regardless!
