My spouse and I USE to enjoy and go to this location routinely. It was our weekend ritual. The quality of service and food is well below satisfactory. It has had a huge staff turnover which unfortunately are not up to the standards we are accustomed to at Sunset Grill. A real BIG disappointment. Our most recent visit was our worst experience and now will be our last. We entered the restaurant about 40-45 mins before closing. Immediately upon walking in we felt awkward as the place looked closed. There were chairs barricading almost all areas of the restaurant and we were not able to freely choose where we wanted to sit. When greeted were only offered the option of 2 tables out of the entire restaurant. They were by the front window, in the sun, in the corner, near the main doors. Not an ideal choice at all, we were the only customers at that time! Sever was not pleasant and seemed annoyed to have customers, and we didn't feel welcomed. It felt like they had basically closed the restaurant down and they were ready to leave. As for the food.... Pancakes had uncooked batter inside it, bacon was not well done as ordered and had to be returned. I had to ask for a refill on coffee, butter was frozen and hard to spread on French toast, syrup was so cold it wouldn't pour out, our plates sat infront of us, as server stood behind us and socialized. The cook came and got our plates and printed our bill. Server still ignoring us. Server did Not present us our bill, never checked on us during our meals. Told us from behind to go to the counter when we were ready!? NOT ACCEPTABLE service. My husband went to the washroom... chairs were barricading the doors which he had to move to go in. Bathroom was a Mess garbage overflowing..onto the floor. STAFF maybe should have be attending to those type of things rather than closing restaurant before CLOSE time. Server had one table to wait on and she gave the poorest service. We did watch other couples come to the door ..but turned around as they thought restaurant was Closed. The fact that the restaurant was bare when we arrived on a Saturday is a red flag. Technically we shouldn't have had to pay. This meal should have been comped! Next time we'll go elsewhere , wouldn't be surprised if this location closes. SOUTH END location, take notes from your NORTH end location. They are by far exceeding you!! You should be ashamed of the service you provide 👎

Read moreThis was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. I came in with my wife and 2 children. We ordered our drinks and our meals all in one shot. Afterward 2 other tables were sat a another party of 4 and a 2 top. Both of which got their drinks before my children and us. I literally had to ask a second time if we could please get my daughter her milk at least. I got my glass of water and finished it. Then our food got delivered and I had to eat it while my glass was completely empty. I was never offered a refill. Now let's talk about the food. My home fries were completely raw , my daughter's waffle was gooey and underdone on the inside and my wife's eggs Florentin spinach was raw along with some underdone crunchy sauted onions and for some reason all of that was covered by a layer of unmelted mozzarella then covered with hollandaise. When we brought up to our server that the waffle was gooey and raw she informed us that it wasn't her who made it, an excuse I would expect from a teenager not a career waitress in there 40s. All in all, this was one of the worst experiences...
