I really had to take some time out to write about my recent experience at this restaurant, which was not too long ago but last night !
So I visited this place with three of my other friends, who really wanted to have beer all late at night around 1 AM and as we know, this place serves alcohol until 2 AM so we went there accordingly expecting a good atmosphere and along with good food.
We ordered two towers of beer which we were strictly guided to finish by 2:30 or else they would take it away from our table if not finished by then so accordingly, my three friends were drinking, but couldn’t finish by 230 so they took away the glasses with beer in it as per their rule which customers totally respected but now I’ll tell you where the bad experience began,
I am not consumer myself, but I am a foodie so I ordered mushroom duplex(which is a rarely found snack in Brampton Indian restaurants) our beer tower arrived but after waiting for at least 25 minutes and at least asking about four times for my starter. I got to know that the order never reached the kitchen on time and all these 25 minutes that I was waiting to get my order was a waste because the order had never reached the chefs hand after 25 minutes they started preparing it, and I was already pissed about the same same. But in between all of the server, who was serving us, came up to our table, informing about this mistake that she had made, and very promptly offered us to have peanut masala in the meanwhile, which I along with my three friends, completely understood as a complimentary offering! They did not get our ordered prepare on time which was not our fault because I had ordered my snack well ahead of time!
So peanut masala arrived around 10 minutes later, and guess what as soon as the mushroom duplex was served I placed another order which was supposedly my main course Amritsar Kulcha, and guess what after waiting for it for at least 30 minutes I get to know that the chef had had never received a confirmation for my order, same mistake, occurring twice and one visit, what should I do about the taste of the food and and atmosphere of the place major mistakes like these are not acceptable in their restaurant chain, either the restaurant owner should not run his place for too long in the night that the servers get so tired that they are not well equipped to work efficiently.
Trust me when I tell you that the beer was over and all four of us were sitting idly on the table for around 30 minutes just to wait for my Kulcha by the end of 30 minutes I was quite pissed about this entire situation and walked up to the reception to cancel my order, and the same minute the dishes arrived, which I had to accept out, of courtesy!
The worst part of all comes now, the bill!
First lead, the peanut masala that we thought was offered as a complimentary item to compensate. The time we were waiting for our starters was very nicely charged in our bill for $7.99 which I believe is not at all accepted. Additionally, there was another error found in the bill we were charged for some onion salad that we had really honestly never ordered on our table and which never arrived.
Three pictures of beer with the happy hour discount along with mushroom duplex, fish order, and Amritsar kulcha was my only order and I was charged extra which is not at all justified after dealing with two major errors made in one visit.
I would tell you guys that I used to love this place for their food and her recommended many people to visit there too but after this experience, I don’t think either me, or any of my friends would ever like to visit the same.
And just to let the owner know the bill was already paid when I recognized these errors. Of course it’s my mistake, but nobody considered my concerns or feedback, which is not acceptable in the restaurant business!
Highly disappointed in you guys try to...
Read moreAt Mehfill, where the spices meet the art of Indian cuisine, my culinary journey took a turn for the extraordinary. 🌟 I indulged in their Butter Paneer Masala Thali, and let me tell you, it wasn't just a meal; it was a symphony on a plate! The quantity? Oh, you better come hungry because they don’t skimp on servings here. It’s like they mistook my stomach for a bottomless pit—but who's complaining, right? 😏
The food itself was a delightful surprise. The Butter Paneer Masala danced on my palate with a richness that was both indulgent and, dare I say, comforting. As for the naan, ah, the naan! It was nothing short of a culinary masterpiece: soft and fluffy on the inside with just the right amount of crispiness on the outside. It’s like each naan came with a personal hug from the chef. 🍞❤️
If you're on the fence about visiting Mehfill, let me push you right off it (gently, of course). Not only is the food out of this world, but the prices won't require you to sell a kidney on the black market. It’s high-quality Indian cuisine that won’t break the bank—what a novel concept! 🤑
In all seriousness, Mehfill is highly recommended. Good food, good prices, and an experience that leaves you both physically and emotionally satisfied. If you haven't been yet, are you even...
Read moreMy friends and I visited Mehil Restaurant around midnight, and while the place wasn't busy, we still had to wait 10-15 minutes to get a table. The staff didn't even inform us when our table was ready - we had to keep checking ourselves. After placing our order, the real frustration began. We waited an astonishing 65 minutes for our food to arrive. During this extended wait, the server didn't bother to provide each of us with plates. Instead, they just placed a stack of 10 plates at the end of our table, forcing us to pass them around awkwardly.
The one saving grace was that the food itself was quite good. The flavors were on point, and the dishes were well-prepared.
However, the abysmal service overshadowed the quality of the food. Waiting over an hour for our order, with no plates provided and no communication from the staff, was simply unacceptable. It made for a frustrating and disappointing dining experience.
While Mehil Restaurant may excel in the kitchen, their front-of-house service needs a complete overhaul. Good food can only go so far when the service is this poor. Unless they make significant improvements, I cannot recommend this...
