Slow to deliver food, understaffed When I came Canada in 1995 this pub was my local for many years until the smoking ban came in. It was under a different name then which I'm not allowed to mention. Last night I was thirsty and wanted a pint of Guinness and a bite to eat.The lady behind the bar was absolutely doing the job of 4 people . I didn't get to eat but I did get a pint. While I was drinking my pint at a table on my own one paranoid soul got suspicious (bless the little man in a toque for trying to save Brampton from a thirsty by passer.) he came over to me and asked "where are the guys you came in with ?". I said I'm here for a quiet pint, and he said "good luck getting another one, because she's a bit slow". he shook my hand and went back to his friends and I realized this guy and the pub I used to know is not the Brampton I want to live in. There was no effort to handle the situation with courtesy or understanding. Instead, I was met with rude remarks and dismissive behavior, as if I wasn’t good enough to be there.
It was extremely disappointing and upsetting to be judged or treated differently based on the type of payment I used. Hospitality should never be conditional, and every guest deserves to feel respected, no matter how they pay.
Needless to say, I won’t be returning — and I hope the management takes a hard look at how their staff treats paying customers. No one should leave a restaurant feeling disrespected...
