Menbow Ramen Tsawwassen 5000 Canoe Pass Way, Delta, BC V4M 4G8

Nestled within the bustling Tsawwassen Mills Mall, Menbow Ramen offers a convenient spot for shoppers seeking a hearty meal. Located adjacent to the food court, this casual eatery presents a range of Japanese-inspired dishes with an emphasis on ramen.

Food

Takoyaki Menbow’s takoyaki is a commendable starter. Served warm, the exterior is delicately crispy, while the inside retains a creamy, well-balanced texture. The flavor is satisfying, though not particularly distinctive. A reliable choice for takoyaki enthusiasts. Rating: 7/10

Shoyu Ramen The shoyu ramen delivers a robust, savory broth complemented by tender chashu slices. The portion size is generous, making it a comforting option. While it satisfies on all fronts, it doesn’t venture into memorable territory. Rating: 7/10

Tantan Ramen This tantan ramen impresses with its creamy broth and nutty undertones. The flavors are rich and balanced, though an extra touch of spice could have elevated the dish. It remains a solid pick for those seeking a slight kick. Rating: 7/10

Mini Pork Rice Bowl A standout on the menu, the mini pork rice bowl features succulent, well-seasoned pork paired with perfectly cooked rice. Its balance of textures and flavors makes it one of the more satisfying options. Rating: 8/10

Deep-Fried Gyoza Crisp and golden, the deep-fried gyoza is a dependable side dish. The filling is flavorful, though it doesn’t necessarily set itself apart from similar offerings elsewhere. Rating: 7/10

Chicken Karaage The chicken karaage, while adequately crispy, falls short of expectations. The seasoning lacks depth, leaving the dish somewhat underwhelming compared to other options on the menu. Rating: 6/10

Ambiance

Menbow Ramen boasts a clean and modern interior that feels fresh and inviting. Despite being located in a busy mall, the restaurant offers a pleasant escape with its well-maintained space. The self-service kiosk system is intuitive and efficient, streamlining the ordering process. Rating: 8/10

Service

Service is functional, with staff acknowledging customers without any particular warmth or attentiveness. While it meets basic expectations, the experience lacks the personalized touch that can elevate casual dining. Rating: 7/10

Price

The pricing is fair and consistent with the portion sizes and quality of the food. Menbow Ramen offers good value for a quick and satisfying meal within a shopping mall setting.

Verdict

Menbow Ramen Tsawwassen offers a reliable dining experience for mall-goers seeking quality ramen and Japanese-inspired dishes. While it may not deliver standout culinary moments, it excels in convenience, cleanliness, and overall consistency. For shoppers in need of a quick, satisfying bite, Menbow Ramen is a...

After seeing a 2.8 rating, I wanted to go back to Menbow Ramen to see if it deserved that rating or not. If you've been to Japan, you would have experienced ordering your food from a kiosk before sitting down in the restaurant. Thumbs up on that, except when you select the daily special, don't assume I want to order a drink. It's almost as though it is included in the price but it is not. Just don't pick anything and add to cart. I selected take out so when the food came, it was nicely packaged in a covered bowl. Thumbs up on the package. No instructions but its easy to figure it out. Just in case youre not sure, ask before you leave the restaurant. Today it was an Asian guy who served me. He was polite. Other times I've come here, it's been a caucasian lady. She was also pleasant. On their soft opening, there were two chefs. Perhaps they were working out the kinks and they weren't the best public facing individuals minding the store. The broth is delicious. Unlike a lot of ramen joints in Tokyo, the broth is not oily. You can drink it without worrying about the fat. They deserve 4 stars for the ramen. Don't order the chicken karaage. I agree, the taste is off. Squeeze some lemon on it or skip it altogether. And come on Tuesdays when extra noodles are free. If you want chicken, order the Tuesday $3.99 box at KFC. Now that's a finger...

This is a mixed review, let’s starts with the positive: flavor is acceptable (tonkotsu broth), the place is will lit and looked tidy. Kiosk staff is friendly, the blackshirt(manager?) not so much. The “daily special ramen” which I assumed was some sort of generic sauce to water mix, was extremely salty. Me and my friend both took two bites and agreed it wasn’t paranoia. When we placed the unfinished bowl to the return shelf the kiosk staff asked how was it, I replied a tad salty, very salty. Then the manager overheard that and told me it was impossible because they didnt add soy sauce, and asked whether WE were the ones that added it ourselves. I said no, we never add sauce prior to tasting it as is, and I never claimed they added specifically soy sauce. Whatever they had in the broth was extremely salty. Manager doesn’t even apologize, I shook my head and said it’s alright, never mind and left.

So Mr black shirt whoever you are, you’re giving the staff a bad reputation, because frankly the other staffs are...
