Horrendous experience. And a warning for everyone.

Was really surprised to get a bill with "10% off" for $86.20 when we ordered some meat on rice, chicken wings and vermicelli combo (price range from 11.75 to 17.50 per item) plus milkshake (which was 7.75 for a medium cup). Grabbed a menu, recalculated in front of the waitress item by item. My result was $51.75 before promised 10% discount. The waitress apologized, took it back to the kitchen and returned with $49.20 bill. When pointed that 51.75-10% will be $46.58, she said that she will only give us 5% off as she "didn't include taxes". I can image one can miscalculate for a couple of bucks or round it up, but excuse me - 60% on top of menu price?! Yes, we all need to pay the bills, but my family is not coming back there.

As a side note: very tiny seating spots, one can barely squeeze themselves in - and if you're bigger, forget about it. Food is ok, nothing special.

PS: the numbers on the side are the numbers for food items (8 is a...

They refuse to sell steamed rice. I’ve been ordering from them for a while (both from their menu and sometimes just steamed rice) but suddenly the guy told me today that they will no longer sell me rice. When I get it I buy 2 small servings- one for me and one for my wife- and I pay $9+tip. I know I’m probably crazy for buying rice when I could make it cheaper but my wife and I work 6 jobs btwn us and have a young kid so we’re always pressed for time and it’s easier to buy it. But suddenly he refuses to sell it. As a test I even offered to pay more but he still refused. Who refuses to sell 2 servings of rice? He couldn’t explain. He’s probably making 90% profit off our sale. And we’ve been long time take-out customers. He just suddenly refuses to sell me rice…Am I crazy? I will be buying my plain, steamed rice elsewhere from now on. They’ve lost 2 long term customers. We’ll go to one of the 3 other Vietnamese restaurants up the road...

after this place had new ownership, it went down considerably. I had decided to never go back there again after my last post of the anorexic dried wings…. Foolishly try again, but this time I looked at the wings before I paid for them they looked OK….. They were all right, but not very good but passable You could eat them if you’re hungry, Thai spring rolls, I have to throw them away. They were soggy burnt tasting, and you could tell it’s oil that’s been used over and over again., I craving today cause I had some great ones yesterday crispy light and great. This is a pathetic mess. I guess the owner of this place when they do take out. Interested in repeat customers just quick sales. It’s too bad cause they made their food properly. I guess if you’re eating it’s different because you’re paying for the food after you eat it. I’ve posted pictures of what I got and what was advertised very different. I will never be stupid enough to...

The missus and I have eaten at Pho Angkor twice in the last 2 weeks and both on Friday evenings. Pho Angkor is located in the Columbia Square Plaza shopping centre in New Westminster. We learned from the owner that they had opened only for about a month now and is affiliated by family with Pho Express Angkor in Queensborough. We have tried the Vietnamese spring rolls, Lemongrass Chicken with Rice and the Lemongrass Beef Vermicelli bowl. We found the food was excellent and the service was prompt. The restaurant was not busy for a Friday evening but that may be due to the restaurant not being discovered yet. We enjoyed our food and would be back to try other items on the menu. Payment is only by debit or cash.
