Fresh Box Sushi — Restaurant in Burnaby

I have been a regular customer of this fresh box sushi highgate burnaby. Firstly I will always appreciate the taste of sushi it's very good here however thats not the only thing a customer appreciates. The owner ( person who prepares sushi) is not knowing how to talk kindly and has no respect. He is so loud and argues if you ask for any chages in order.I paid for 3 orders and had slight changes in one order he was angry and yelling saying you ordered wrong .cmon be nice nd humble don't yell on customers you can kindly correct that order One day I ordered 3 sets of sushi and my kid asked for water he demanded to pay for a glass of water. Such an unkind man . Also he shows no respect .He must learn to be polite greed with kind words and kind in his voice .He may be famous for his sushi but this is a shame and drop in his quality of business. Good service, delicious food. Overall experience = not pleased as the cashier lady automatically placed 15% on the machine, then changed it to 10%. At first it read 5% which I was satisfied to add for tip, and when it was ready for me to tap, she decided to correct it with the choice of her tip %. I looked at her & the machine hesitant to pay. I told her "I want to pay 5%." She refused to change it. Since, when do restaurants force customers to pay tip for sitting ??? Hence, there are no signs inside to alert customers/ or verbal notice prior to ordering. She justified the tip % for sitting down (service), when it was time to pay.

Sushi has gotten so expensive and reataurants have been skimping. This place still provides good quality and quantity for a reasonable price.

Remember when you order the so called special rolls and theres nothing special except for a few pieces of sashimi on top of a roll they alreadt have and suddenly it's 2-3 times the price? The kiss of fire roll has a mountain of delicious sashimi more on top of each sushi. Well worth the dish.

Their chopped scallop was super fresh. The spicy tuna I found the fish to be kinda mashed. I like the ones with whole tuna marinated in spicy sauce. The chicken teritaki don had a good weight and super deep flavors. A little on the salty side.
