Freshslice Pizza — Restaurant in Burnaby

Just changed my review. There’s a sign saying if you do a Google review you can get a slice of pizza. I was just passing by and thought I would get my slice but was also wondering how easy it would be. What followed was me having a strange conversation for at least 5 minutes with a server trying to convince me this wasn’t my account, my google review. She couldn’t find my review on her computer. I took a photo outside, not inside was seemed to be a problem. Also problematic was that I was here 2 weeks ago so it didn’t count, etc etc. my take away is that you should go into Fresh Slice to buy a pizza and you should do the google review right in front of them…. I think. I finally said “Oh… my… god!!!” Then she said ok which piece do you want. I told her. The other server switched the piece I asked for to another kind of bland pizza. Just an interesting transaction I thought I’d share. BTW I didn’t do the google review for the free pizza!

I IWhat a horrible place. Grossly misrepresented marketing where it is advertised as unlimited toppings for 12" pizza with pop for $9.99. What you get back is a pathetic representation where you see more pizza dough on the bread than topping throughout the whole pizza. You would expect to see some layering of toppings in an unlimited topping pizza. This place is a joke. Stay away from this establishment, they are a bunch of crooks who like to cheat you of your money. You get a far better deal next door in the donair place where you can ask for more onion, olives, hot sauce and tomato and you get it without being reprimanded for wanting toppings that is technically included in the deal. Never had this problem at any other Freshslice pizza. This Highgate mall Fresh Slice staff is going to kill this business with their bad business practice. This is the last time I will ever frequent there. Honestly, go next door and spend your money wisely for. $10 thin crust pizza with little to no toppings for an unlimited topping pizza will...

I’ve always enjoyed Freshslice, but this location is an absolute disgrace. The staff here have no sense of basic human decency.

When I walked in, I clearly said I would order, but I urgently needed to use the washroom first—I was literally shifting in place trying not to pee myself. Instead of showing even the slightest bit of understanding, the staff member, with the worst attitude imaginable, arrogantly gave me a firm “NO” and said I couldn’t use the washroom because I wasn’t a paid customer yet.

Let’s be clear: I wasn’t trying to use the washroom for free—I was about to buy something! But instead of an ounce of empathy, I got treated with pure arrogance and disrespect. I was so frustrated and disgusted by this inhumane policy (and even worse attitude) that I left without ordering.

I’ll never be back. If you value even the most basic level of customer service, avoid this place at all costs. Plenty of other pizza spots in Vancouver won’t treat you...
