A&W Canada — Restaurant in Calgary

Went there on the way home as my mother was hungry and wanted a Momma burger. Went inside and to be fair there was no one else in the store at the time but the guy behind the counter being on his phone, pretty much ignored us until he was done whatever it was he was doing on his phone. We ordered a Momma combo, I ordered a Mozza Combo and my wife and her mother wanted just a Mozza burger to share. All of a sudden it was almost $36! I looked at the screen of my order and realized it was just under $8 for just a Mozza burger and to make it a combo (regular size drink and fries) was over $5 more! I changed mine for just a Mozza burger as well over the price shock. Wanted to wash my hands before I ate my food but the staff had put a cart across the hallway to the washroom with a sign that said "washrooms are unavailable", I asked if I could just wash my hands, thinking perhaps the place was closing soon as they also had most of the dining area sort of closed off by placing chairs in the way of the walking isles (I later saw on the internet that they are open 24hrs and upon reading other reviews it seem to be that the "washrooms unavailable" cart is a common thing, even at breakfast time). Good thing I didn't get a combo as my mothers fries were super cold and dry (like old fries can get), she asked where the ice dispenser was for her drink and was told they "don't serve ice anymore" and having worked at a few proper restaurants and often in food prep, I recognized that the bacon was tasting like it was days old. I 100% will not be going back there or any A&W for that matter if that is the kind of food and service on offer for that kind of crazy money! I don't care how much or little you charge for your food, if you can't serve fresh, hot food of decent quality (even in fast food this is of course more than possible), then close your doors and find...

Went through the drive through and asked for a regular root beer that’s it can’t mess that up right ? Wrong. go to the window tap for the amount and then am asked “frozen rootbeer right”. No. They get me my correct drink and I ask if I can just tap for the difference as I was charged for the frozen one. The girl at the window does something on the screen then says “you’re good” ????? I ask if there’s a difference in price. She says no. $5 for a regular rootbeer… that’s not right. I go around and come into the building, there is in fact a difference and price. I ask for a refund and confront her about lying to a customer. All I get is a snarky “sorry”

Horrible service, took over 20 minutes in the drive through to get to the window even, once I got to the window I watch the lady walk away as my food sits there bagged, to go talk to her coworkers, one a manager looking type with a darker shirt, on his phone laughing in the front area in view of eatery and drive through window, two males seemingly sexually harassing eachother as one touches the other and gets pushes off aggressively and 2 girls not really doing much either, finally the lady walks back over, I pay and get my food, completely unseasoned cold fries, and unseasoned grease dripping burgers, no trace of the whole reason I come here, the a&w seasoning, I would recommend driving 6 minutes south to the Glenmore location, much better service and food, these guys are repeatedly missing the mark on both taste,...
