So the bf and I are hungry and decide we haven’t had Korean BBQ in awhile. We get to Gogi on McLeod and open the doors. There’s a cluster of 15-20 people standing around so we figure it’s a lineup……but on a Monday?? After waiting about 5 minutes and notice people are paying I ask a server walking by (I know this is annoying as I was a server and bartender for 10 years) and she says she can’t seat us because only the young man running 15-20 payments is the only one who can seat people. Totally fine I understand it’s Monday and they don’t have the staff. When we are finally seated, our server Remy* comes by right away. I put an asterisk beside her name because she was beyond wonderful and helpful from the second we sat down. It was our first time at Gogi and I honestly had no clue how it worked. Many Korean BBQ places are different and we once tried Migarock but it was so beyond awful from the service to the experience that we swore off Korean for a bit. Gogi is a beautiful breath of fresh air :) Remy asked if I wanted a menu with pictures and I said yes. The bf knows a lot more than me so I felt blessed to have Remy answer all my annoying questions like a rockstar! While she went through our order she informed us about the area that contained sauces, spices, salads, ramen, dumplings, etc. The bulgogi was perfect as was the spicy bulgogi. The pork belly was delicious as were the pork rolls. Everything that came out was so phenomenally delicious that I did not actually use the sauces that I got. Good thing I only took a little of each one. I did try all the sauces and they each added a little extra flavour, but hands off to the chef or chefs that have marinated the meat so amazing well that sauces were not at all needed. Such a perfect experience that the bf and I have decided to make this our Korean BBQ spot 🥰🥰. You were all wonderful and thank you so very much for the perfect date night!! If I could give more than 5...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this phenomenal Korean BBQ restaurant, and I cannot express enough how much I enjoyed my experience! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by the warm and friendly staff, who made me feel right at home.
The cleanliness of the restaurant was exceptional. The dining area was immaculately maintained, with well-spaced tables and a cozy atmosphere. The attention to detail in maintaining a clean environment truly added to the overall dining experience.
The all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ option was an absolute delight. The quality and variety of meats available were outstanding. Each cut was fresh, tender, and expertly marinated, ensuring a burst of flavors with every bite. I was particularly impressed by the premium beef and pork options; they were absolutely mouthwatering!
Not only were the meats delectable, but the accompanying side dishes were equally fantastic. every dish added to the authenticity and richness of the Korean culinary experience.
What truly sets this restaurant apart, however, is the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were attentive, knowledgeable, and always willing to offer recommendations or assist with grilling techniques. Their genuine enthusiasm and friendliness created an enjoyable and interactive dining atmosphere.
Overall, my visit to this Korean BBQ restaurant was a memorable one. The friendly staff, combined with the clean and inviting ambiance, made for an exceptional dining experience. The high-quality, delicious food further solidified this place as my go-to spot for Korean BBQ.

Read moreI visited this place due to its impressive 4.8-star rating and around 5,000 reviews, but I was let down by the food. Although the service was prompt and the quantity of food was substantial, the quality was lacking. The meat cuts were inconsistent: some were too thick, leading to uneven cooking, while others were too thin and dried out quickly. Additionally, the servers didn’t allow us to adjust the grill temperature, resulting in broiling rather than achieving a good char.
The service was excellent, and the salad bar and sauce selection were nice touches, though the salad bar’s quality was not great. The paper menu was only in Korean, so we had to scan a QR code for an English menu with pictures, which slowed down the ordering process. It would be more convenient to have an English menu available directly. Also, rubber tongs should be provided to prevent any mishaps with the grill, and having water with ice would help balance the strong flavors.
The overall experience seemed to cater mainly to a younger crowd, as evidenced by the many teenagers present, especially considering the $32.99 per person price compared to Seoul’s $42.99. If you're seeking higher-quality cuts, an improved salad bar, faster service, and a better overall experience, Seoul Korean BBQ just down the street is the place to go. For a superior all-you-can-eat experience, it’s worth spending a little extra at Seoul Korean BBQ. If saving a few dollars is your priority and you don’t mind a compromise on food quality, you might choose this place. However, for the best value and food quality, Seoul Korean BBQ is likely your better option.
I won’t be coming back until more care is provided in the...
