Came here this afternoon around 2:30 with my husband, we were the only customers. When we came in the owners/workers who looked like a couple were having there lunch I assume. The guy who was wearing a glasses was rude when he came and gave the menu. He came back to give us tea but we didn't drink it as we didn't even see him wash or sanitize his hands 🤦♀️ We thought he was being rude because we just disturbed their lunch, but that's not an enough "excuse" to be rude specially when the restaurant is open for business. Everytime I asked him a question he just answered with "ya" or "okay" while he was walking away. I almost snapped at him for being so rude if only my husband didn't stop me, the food was okay, didn't even have the appetite to eat what I ordered, when we were about to pay the guy was just starting to "act nice" but nah. No tip for your rude behavior!
And one more thing, the lady who was working there should be using a shoes, she was just using a slippers, it was our first time seeing someone whose working in the kitchen and not wearing...
Read moreMy wife and I visited on a Wednesday night. Our visit was in the midst of COVID. Server checked out vaccination QR code before leading us to our table. We ordered a beef betel, a beef stew rice noodle and a beef noodle soup. The wait time was about 15 mins between ordering and serving.
The good: Betel leaf was crispy and flavourful; beef stew has tender beef and flavourful broth. Broth was also good for the beef noodle soup; brisket was soft yet thick.
The bad: Beef inside the beef betel was dry. Overall portion was small, considering the price point, especially for the meat of the beef noodle soup. I've been a huge fans of tendons, was a bit disappointed to see the absence of it, personal preference. The soggy noodle was, needless to say, overcooked but also had an overpowering aftertaste of rice when slurped, likely wasn't rinsed before submerging into the broth.
Conclusion, so-so when picked the right items on the menu. Bit on the pricey side considering the...
Read moreA different approach to a satay peanut soup, really warm and flavorful broth. I had heard about this place from a co Worker who mentioned that he drives across town for a bowl of peanut satay from this place. While in the area my partner and I decided to give it a try. We ordered two of the satay peanut soups, and one appetizer sampler. The appetizer sampler offered two salad rolls, two spring rolls and four fried Dumplings. The salad rolls felt really fresh, the egg rolls had a decent filling, and the Dumplings were equally good. Our soups arrived shortly after. As I mentioned before the restaurant offers a much different take on the peanut satay soup compared to other restaurants, this place doesn't put the entire emphasis on the peanut taste, but blends in more spices into the broth offering a very warming satisfying soup that would probably really stand out during colder weather. Bottom line being I will probably be stopping here again...
