This cafe is A-Okay. The convience of it being inside the Chinook Centre is a god send when you are completing some Christmas shopping. Sometimes you need a fix when you have to bump elbows with other eager gift-givers.
The baristas there are lively and friendly. They weren't pushy with me even though I did not know what I wanted other than that delightfully creamy matcha latte with almond milk. They sweetened it for me too which made it taste absolutely perfect. They workers were happy to share their favorites with me and knew everything there was to know about their pastries. As you can see in the pic. I choose the everything bun. It seemed like a good idea to pair something sweet with something savory. Luckily i was right. The bun was great but I had to admit that it tasted cold. I would have loved it if it was warmed up a little bit. That is a small critizism but it isn't too important.
The ambiance is natural, comfortable, and cozy. Their whole mission is to get you to stop and enjoy a cuppa. In their comfy seats and modernized bistro tables they succeeded. It's like being in Paris but with an Asian feel.
Sadly, this place is pretty pricy even though you do get quality. As great as it is, This is a place where I can only stop once in a while. I'd love to come back for more but the problem is, I would be broke.
Never-the-Less, if you have the extra mullah, go there and get yourself a lovely treat. Sometimes,...
Read morePurchased food and coffee here to sit down and check some emails, and they told me to put away my laptop.
Would be nice to have signs to notify people of this beforehand so they can avoid having to make a purchase before being told no laptops.
I was just checking some emails anyway, so I did the same thing on my phone - not really sure what the difference is. If people sitting for a long time is the issue, then I suggest putting a time limit on table usage, or applying the rule during certain hours or days (ex. No laptops on weekends or between the hours of 9am - 11am etc.) rather than asking people to not use laptops in the cafe at all because the cafe is empty most of the time anyway.
Pastries are ok as are the coffees. No reason for a revisit especially since every time I come here, service seems impersonal and cold at best. The best thing about this cafe is the location in the mall and being attached to Aritzia, which can probably be a big plus for anyone waiting for their significant other who...

The café has such a calm, cozy vibe modern but warm and it’s the perfect little spot to take a break from shopping. We ordered a pumpkin latte and a pistachio pastry, and both were incredible! The latte had the perfect balance of spice and smoothness, and the pastry was fresh, flaky, and full of flavor. We also tried one of their fruit danishes, which looked almost too pretty to eat and it tasted even better! The whole setup feels so thoughtful from the green marble tables to the comfy seating and friendly staff. It’s a really nice place to sit with family, enjoy your coffee, and people-watch for a while. If you’re visiting Chinook, definitely stop by here.
