This review is based on a delivery order, so I did not dine in the restaurant. We ordered the family platter for 5, which came with salad (fattoush), hummus, garlic sauce, tahini, and I added baba ganoush. The platter included a bed of turmeric rice with five skewers of beef kebab and five chicken tawook, along with a small dessert of baklava.Salad: The fattoush was delightful, featuring very crispy fried pita bread combined with mixed greens, radishes, and tomatoes, all infused with a refreshing citrus flavor.Dips and Sauces: The hummus, tahini, baba ganoush, and garlic sauce were all very good, nothing to worry about here.Main Dish: The rice, BBQ, and garlic potatoes were the main components. Unfortunately, the rice was quite disappointing. It was supposed to be cooked in butter with peas and carrots, but there were hardly any peas or carrots visible. The rice was overcooked with an excessive amount of turmeric, resulting in bright yellow rice that lacked flavor. The garlic potatoes were fried and then covered, which made them soft and mushy. They tasted dry and flavorless. The grilled chicken was juicy and tasted good. However, the beef kebab was awful—burnt, dry, and flavorless. It left an unpleasant aftertaste of fat and bitterness from over-spicing and the charcoal.Dessert: Lastly, the free baklava was a major letdown. Please do not give away old desserts if no one is buying them. It was bitter, mushy, and the syrup it was dipped in was tasteless, far from the traditional Middle Eastern sugar syrup.Overall: Overall, I would not try this platter again, at least not anytime soon. Maybe I'll consider it much later to see if there's any...
Read moreI love jeruslam shawarma and was so happy to see they also have a location right next to chinook which will be perfect for shopping trips. However I dont know if I just came on an off day or if their recipe differs but we ordered our regular order of royal shish tawouk plates and chicken Shawarma for everyone and one beef Shawarma. the shish tawouk plate tasted horrible. one of the sauces (either hummus or garlic perhaps) was burning our tongues. also the way the chicken was flavoured was very heavy on lemon unlike usual. it made the whole plate very sour, boring and hard to eat. the shawarma was a bit better since it didnt have the chicken but still caused burning. very strong garlic. My son actually said the beef was ok but we mostly like chicken so everything but that one shawarma was chicken and was not enjoyable. It is my favourite restraunt and I would try again if I knew this to be a mistake rather than the regular amount of strong garlic in the dishes. I love garlic but it has never burned and made our tongues hurt like this.
otherwise nice location in terms of seating. they also had bakery items which I have tried and are delicious....
Read moreWe’ve ordered food from Jerusalem Restaurant several times now, and every single time it’s been an amazing experience. Even though the restaurant is quite far from where we live, we gladly make the trip — because the atmosphere here is special, and the service is truly warm and personal.
From the very first visit, the staff made a great impression — and when we came back for the second time, they recognized and remembered us! That was such a pleasant surprise — it made us feel like more than just customers, but welcomed guests they were genuinely happy to see.
Since then, they’ve consistently treated us with little surprises — small gifts, extras, and thoughtful touches that make every visit feel special and personal.
The food is absolutely delicious, always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. And the staff? They’re truly the heart of this place — super friendly, kind, and welcoming, creating a space you want to come back to again and again.
Huge thanks to Jerusalem Restaurant for the hospitality, the quality, and the care you put into everything. We’ll definitely keep coming back and recommending you to...
