FAMOUS WOK — Restaurant in Calgary

I am updating my review from 1 year ago. I dont know if we had a better experience this time because its a sunday during lunch rush but hands down the food was very well made. The fried rice had a perfect texture and tasted much better than the last time. The last time all the food was flavorless. But this time the food was full of flavor and fresh. The special chicken was perfectly fried! The flavor was perfect and the bbq chicken was well cooked and flavorful. All food was fresh and flavorful!! So idk if that makes a difference but the last time we came it was a weekday during lunch but it wasn't busy at all. The rice was dry and flavorless and the ginger beef was soggy and bland. However that was a year ago... So maybe the employees changed and the person cooking is better. Now as for atmosphere i give it a 3 but thats not something the establishment can control because its a mall food court. Finding a place to sit is quite stressful and my daughter gets anxious around big crowds. if crowds are an issue for you i highly suggest coming during a weekday afternoon instead. On May 11 2024 around 7:30 pm to 8 pm i went to get food from this restaurant. I payed and she handed me my food, after a few minutes she called me over asking me to return the food and said "your transaction did not go through return the food". First of all why was I handed food if my transaction didn't even go through, she could've asked me nicely to try paying again but rather then that she embarrassed me in front of a large audience and even asked me to return the food AFTER I had walked away. Either she didn't hand me my food before making sure the transaction has gone through or atleast talk to me nicely about what the problem was. When I asked for a Manager to try and talk to them about the rude behavior she denied the fact that there was a manager and then later proceeded to tell me that she herself was the manager. She did not even try hearing my side and was just being so rude and afterwards did not even say sorry. Very unprofessional and rude...

Would give it zero stars for honesty. I've been buying lunch at least once per week from Chinook location. I always have the same items-two different veggies minus rice or noodles, or meat, therefore asked to top it off with veggies (essentially fill in the void which was left by not having protein or rice/noodles) Every-time the bill comes out different. Today am really P**SED off as was charged the maximum amount possible. So, by just substituting with veggies they decide to charge $3.00 extra. They saved on the starch so why charge extra? Shady and dishonest people. Will keep my receipts from now on to do a survey every-time I purchase same items with them and maybe post it. After that, will go somewhere else to buy.
