We had a great experience at Comery Block. We arrived with no reservation and ended up walking in just as they received a cancellation, so they could accommodate us at a table instead of the bar. Our server Marissa was awesome! Knowledgeable and quick, she offered us only the tastiest whiskey and bourbon suggestions that we loved every time. We also got to chat with a gentleman who helps pick out the whiskey and bourbon for Comery and Hayden Block, and we learned about what will be next on the bourbon and whiskey menus, and why the Jefferson's Ocean bourbon has the coolest back story around (Marissa told us the story and we had this guy elaborate on why aging bourbon by sea on voyages is even a good idea). So cool! As for the food, we had the Pork Ribs, Dill Pickle Spears, Chipotle Brisket Empanadas, Spicy Fries, and a Hot Link. It was a huge amount of food for the two of us and everything was delicious. We ended up taking a lot of it home and I honestly can't wait to go back and dig further into that BBQ, whiskey, and bourbon menu.

Comery Block is easily one of the best barbecue restaurants I’ve visited. I ordered the pork ribs, brisket, beef short ribs, Frito Pie, and burnt ends, and every single dish was packed with flavor. The pork ribs were tender and smoky, the brisket had that perfect melt-in-your-mouth texture, and the burnt ends were rich and delicious. The standout for me was the beef short ribs—absolutely incredible. They were perfectly cooked, juicy, and full of flavor. I’d highly recommend them to anyone coming here for the first time. On top of the amazing food, the service was excellent. My server gave thoughtful recommendations and really made my first visit enjoyable. The atmosphere is relaxed but lively, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family. Overall, Comery Block delivers top-notch barbecue with fantastic service. Definitely a 5-star experience, and I’ll be coming back for those short ribs again

Went for dinner with a friend, great service, fantastic room. One of those restaurants that is a great place to try, but for me I don't need to go back for a while. Love smoked and bbq but not weekly The smoked meats were well prepared very flavourful, we had a quarter pound of ribs, beef and turkey. With sides of green beans and coleslaw. We were only able to finish the ribs, had half the beef and all the turkey left over. The sides were huge, The basis of the food makes it very heavy. The cornbread was btw. Amazing The green beans were nicely seasoned with perfectly cooked. The slaw could have been finer chopped but was nicely dressed. The staff were fantastic, even though it was a very busy Saturday night we did not feel rushed. Unless you are a group I would suggest sitting at the bar for two folks, otherwise you end up in close quarters with a lot of folks you don't know at picnic tables.

Hi! I wanted to write this review as I was super unhappy with my experience here. I came to the restaurant on December 26th as my friends had made surprise plans to take me out for my birthday. We were originally there to go to Prickett Richard however came a bit early and went upstairs to Commery for a quick drink. We sat at the large booth by the bar and had a server, her name was Nicole. We waited about 5-10 minutes for a greet with water, which we then ordered a round of shafts and a couple drinks. One of my friends inquired about a dairy free shaft as she is lactose and the server said no as they were batched on draft and can't remove the milk which we understood, however the server was giving her a lot of attitude with this request which we didn't appreciate. Finally our reservation was ready at Prickett and we asked for our bill, we asked for all separate then one friend wanted to pay for another friends bill our server responded with "well can you add them up" my friend paused cause it caught us off guard he then went to add the bills in which our server responded "mathematically" then without waiting a moment snatched the bills off the table and said "I'll do it myself." We were all so shocked about her attitude and the way she showed up to work. We also had two friends outside smoking when she dropped the bills which was apparently a big inconvenience to our server as she made several comments about it. When my friends came back we all paid and happily left to receive amazing service downstairs. I will likely never come back to this restaurant as still over a week later I cannot stop thinking about how horrible of an experience this was and only for a quick round of drinks. I work in the industry and so do all of my friends we genuinely received the worst service and were so appalled, I will never recommend coming here after being a long time customer over the last few years. If I could leave 0...

I usually order food once a week through DoorDash; this is my third visit to the restaurant. Unfortunately, the host team is terrible. When I arrived, the host said there were no tables available, and right next to me there was an empty table. I asked if it was occupied, and she said no, so she gave it to me. I ordered brisket and my usual brisket sandwich and soda water, because I don't drink.

A few minutes after ordering, and before the food arrived, I decided to go wash my hands, and it turns out the hostess gave my table away. It became a terrible experience because I didn't bring a sweater, and at that table was perfect because rigth there the wind didn't blow, and the day was cold and windy. So I requested my table back and asked for the people to be moved since that was my table. It turned out they didn’t want to move, and I ended up being moved instead. I made an effort to eat there only because I really like the food.

But when I asked for the bill, two people came to remove me from the establishment. I don’t know why they claimed that I had called the host stupid, which is a lie. I don’t use such words, and I know from experience, as I am a chef with 15 years of experience and 10 years managing restaurants as an executive chef, GM, or owner, that when such mistakes happen, it’s clearly because the person who made the mistake is very, very bad at what they do. Considering they have a very good POS system and also work with OpenTable, what is the excuse for these mistakes? I'm so disappointed how the team manage the situation, bad move from the GM, hosting team and how ever was the guys how come to remove from the restaurant. Making worse the lie, that I said “stupid” to the hostess.

They also wanted to lie, they threatened to call the police for having trespassed on the establishment.

This serves as a conclusive illustration of both racial harassment...

We were disappointed with our experience here. We have tried Hayden Block and Southern Block and had great food at both of those restaurants. Unfortunately Comery Block just doesn't compare. We were there when they first opened and not all tables had been cleaned. The table we sat at had sticky containers of sauce, with lids that hadn't been cleaned in a while. We shared food so we tried the brisket, ribs, hot link along with trays of burnt ends, deep fried pickles, sides of beans, grits, potato salad along with jalapeno cornbread. The food was very average and nothing was served particularly hot aside from the pickles. We all agreed the brisket and ribs were probably the best of what we ate and thought these items were good. I thought the potato salad was good, and it was a generous portion. The rest was just not what we'd expect from a restaurant that is focused on bbq. We have eaten at many bbq restaurants and are not inexperienced in what to expect from this type of food. For what it costs to go out for a meal, I would not choose this again for the food but also the ambience. Aside from sticky items on the table and some uncleaned tables, the doors were left open so even though we weren't eating on a patio we were swatting away flies and wasps. All in all we were disappointed and would not...
