About a year ago I made a review and gave the Sunridge Mall location of Cora's a 5 star review.
Today my two teenaged son's and I attended this same location. My eldest ordered the stack of 🍓 strawberry and 🍌 banana pancakes. My other Son and I both ordered Louis Undecided.
The pancakes 🥞 this time were noticeably smaller. I would say about 2 inches in diameter smaller. 3 small pancakes, maybe a full banana and 2 strawberries are not worth $14.95. Disappointing that Cora's is cutting back on the portion size and the value of it's product.
The two Louis Undecided dinners featured partially burnt potato wedges and both Crepes had both ends of crepe overcooked. Both were crispy. My Son's sunny side eggs were over cooked. The yokes were kind of half runny and the bottom of the eggs was brown and overcooked. It's like Cora's has also gone from using large or extra large eggs to medium sized ones. The portion size was smaller in both dinners.
For drinks we received water in these really small glasses. They might hold 150 ml of liquid. It's like they are rationing water. I ordered a coke expecting to get a cup with fountain poured coke. Instead I got a can of coke. Later when I checked the bill I was charged $3.25 for the can. I didn't ask for refill because it seems weird to ask with a can. Everytime I have been to Cora's pop has been served in a glass. Pretty outrageous 😠
The server was friendly, but essentially did the bare bones service. She brought the food, drinks and was not very attentive to the table. She refilled my Son's coffee once. Never asked or offered the waters or coke. At the end she brought the payment machine and left it on the table with us and walked away and never returned. I have never had a server anywhere leave during payment process. I hadn't even put my card in and she was gone. One she left and expensive machine unattended and two she didn't make sure the client had paid
Like I said above I gave this Cora's location a 5 star review a year ago basically ordering the same dinners. We have been there in between and never had these issues. We usually love the food and enjoy coming. The only difference this time is we usually come in the morning and this time was bout 12:45.
If this is the way Cora's wants to conduct business we won't be back. Hopefully this was a one off and corrections can be made. $71 dollar bill for three people is not cheap by any means. Smaller portion sizes on the food, burnt food, $3.25 cans of Coke and poor service is the recipe for places going out of business. Hopefully Ownership/Management will take this Google review seriously and...
Read moreThis morning I decided to take my brother and mother out for breakfast and it’s sad to say it was one of the worst experiences I’ve had. Our waitress Rania was a very nice woman who seated us right away. She took our orders, we were very alarmed when we found out after years of eating the turkey sausage, that it is cooked with the bacon.. what’s the point of having that as a substitute when it’s being cooked in the same pan? Especially when having strict dietary issues the least that could be done is letting customers know there is cross contamination. She let us know and we told her we want that order just without the sausage. No price was deducted, nothing was substituted since we weren’t getting it and nothing was done about it which was very frustrating. They also charged us $5 a plate for getting plain pancakes instead of chocolate pancakes which is a bit confusing, but we still paid anyways because it was too late to do anything about it. After ordering our food we waited about 45 minutes to get our food. The biggest problem was it wasn’t what we ordered and then had to wait another 10-15 minutes till it was corrected. The food was cold and just not to the expectation we usually get. We tried letting someone know we didn’t get our toast with our meals but not a single waitress was in site not until we finished our meals. It was not busy at all that’s why we were a bit confused as to where all the employees have went. I let a different waitress know we didn’t receive our bread and she came back and put the bread on our table once we were about to leave. The waitress Rania seems to be a very nice woman who engaged in conversation and overall very welcoming(got a tip for her awesome attitude) But unfortunately $100 on one of the worst experiences yet it was very horrible service and a bad experience for my two family members who probably won’t be coming back another time, at least not to...
Read moreThere were 12 in our group for brunch. Part way through eating her strawberry/nutella crepe, my 11 year old granddaughter found a very, very long hair .... it was actually covered in the chocolate spread! I waved over a server who took the hair, apologized and offered to have it remade. Most of us were so grossed out we couldn't even enjoy our own meals! My granddaughter refused another crepe and settled for eggs instead. We asked for a takeout container and guess what ..... another hair in that too!! The waiter quickly returned with a clean one, again apologizing. My other granddaughter was still eating (she had the same crepe as my first granddaughter) and guess what?? Another hair in her meal!! By then our entire table was gagging! I asked to speak with the manager who apologized, but went on to tell me that "we all lose hair; in fact we can shed up to 100 hairs a day." I couldn't believe it!! And then she says, "All of my cooks wear hair nets ..... and none of them have long blonde hair!!" Excuse me??? Did she wash the chocolate spread off the first hair to see it was blonde? And the hair in the takeout container was shorter, dark & wavy. I didn't observe the color of the third hair because by that time I was on my feet searching out the Manger!! Does this woman think her excuses/explanations made us feel better about all the hair???? It was as if she was trying to justify it to me!! Since none of us were able to finish our meals, I cannot help but wonder how many more hairs we might have found! Disgusting!!! This manager needs customer service training! Her blase attitude...
