My fierce and I love hand pulled noodles and we live close this location. We saw it on a drive home and thought it would be a great place to try. The atmosphere gets that street food vibe which was fine, everything looked ok and clean. Nice miral on the wall. The service was different. You order online with your phone which was new for us. But the server was there to give us water and our order. She also did inform us that if we’d prefer to order in person with her that’s totally ok too. We thought we’d try there way, something new, something different. It would great.
The food… the food was mediocre at best… initially it looked amazing. I ordered the rib back beef soup (something along the lines of that name, don’t quote me), and my fierce ordered the braised beef soup. It literally looked like they took the rib from my dish and cut off the meat from it, and out it into my fiancés dish, and then took some of the meat out because it was too much. She got a total of 4 x 1”x1” cubed pieces of meat. And I got a fully eaten rib… not half eaten, fully eaten. I had maybe 3 nibbles of meat off the bone. That’s all. Nothing else in my bowl for meat. And to charge me +$18 for that was absurd… The broth was the exact same on both dishes. Broth was good. Nothing special or memorable. Both had some sort of the white thin slices of radish. Very good in general. Some green onion, which looked like it was in the soup because it was stuck to the ladle. The noodles ok, again, nothing special or memorable. To my personal taste made it grainy. Personal issue I’m sure. My biggest issue was what I paid for vs the quality of food I got… I order a rib with meat. Not just the rib… and not a rib that half eaten… honestly think it was half eaten the more I...
Read moreWe finally tried this place after driving past it so many times. We got the signature Lanzhou beef noodles (thick noodles, not spicy) and braised beef noodles (wide noodles).
The signature Lanzhou beef noodles is so flavourful with clean broth, tender slices of beef and the thick noodles had some chew to them. The braised beef noodle tasted strong with more beef flavour, with a little spice to it. The wide noodles had the perfect bouncy and chewy texture. We liked it more than the thick noodles. We also tried their chicken salad, which was shredded chicken in mala Szechuan sauce. Actually, it's not that spicy. We would've preferred it if it was spicier with peppercorns and perhaps some peanuts too.
The place was super clean, and not too busy on a weekend afternoon. The parking situation is a bit tight in that shopping complex though. Service was great, albeit minimal, since you order via QR code. They did check on our table a...
Read moreI didn't know what to expect from Niubest Hand Pulled Noodles initially as I wasn't sure if the restaurant concept was similar to quintessential Japanese ramen. To my surprise, it was everything like that and more!
Our server was so helpful, patient, positive and pleasant throughout our dinner experience 😊
We tried the seaweed salad, vegetarian spring rolls, braised beef thick noodle and broth (spicy & hearty) as well as the mushroom noodles and broth. Our server even offered to have extra chili oil on the side, which was a nice touch! Everything was so tasty, delicious and delectable. Beautifully presented and portions were plentiful.
The iced green tea was a perfect compliment and I found that there was an extensive selection of beverages and menu items to choose from!
We will definitely be back! Next time, I'll try the craft beer they have available to pair with some of the signatures dishes...
