Great Canadian Pizza & Butter Chicken Hut - Macleod — Restaurant in Calgary

I usually look up reviews before I order on skip the dishes. I was so hungry that I order and only read reviews while I was waiting .

With all the posted reviews honestly I was scared and deeply regretting my choice! Though once the food came I was reassured and I don’t normally even make reviews I just wanted clarify it is no where near as bad as people make this place to be , and I’m a tough critic!

We order the butter chicken and chicken korma. The korma was super yummy , mild and creamy. I got some veggie samosa and they were also pretty good. We got an array of naan and though they aren’t the traditional fire oven naans they aren’t bad! They came hot and were more pizza dough like. The rice didn’t taste as that super clean and aromatic basmati from other Indian restaurants but it still went great with the Korma. We were so full after our Korma that we didn’t make it to finish the Butter chicken. Though I had to have a little taste because was so curious about all the bad reviews on it . No it’s not the typical butter chicken , it doesn’t taste like there is much cream in it though it is smooth , rich and a little sweeter than the average. It is different though not bad !! We also have a ton of leftovers ! This place has bad wrap for no reason . Some people are really trying to bring this place down . All in all I rate this place a 3.9 Good...

Horrible Experience – Would Never Return!

I had the worst dining experience at [Restaurant Name] and would not recommend it to anyone. From the moment I walked in, the service was terrible. The host barely acknowledged my presence, and I had to wait an unreasonably long time to be seated, even though the restaurant was half-empty.

Once seated, it took forever for the server to take my order. When the food finally arrived, it was cold, poorly cooked, and completely different from what I had ordered. I politely asked for a correction, but the staff was dismissive and borderline rude. It took another 30 minutes just to get a replacement, which was just as bad—overcooked, bland, and unappetizing.

The worst part was the cleanliness. The table was sticky, the cutlery had food residue, and the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. I couldn’t believe a restaurant could operate in such conditions.

To top it all off, when the bill came, I was overcharged for items I never ordered. When I pointed it out, the staff acted annoyed and took forever to fix it.

Overall, it was a nightmare. Horrible service, bad food, and a filthy environment. I wouldn’t go back even if the meal were free. Avoid...

I’m so disappointed with this place. Communication sucks. I saw online the price for pizza and wings. I called to confirm the price and placed an order on the phone. I said the price online over and over again and he said yes I’ll give you combo 1. I assumed that the price for combo 1 was the price online which I kept repeating the price and not once did he correct the price for me. When I picked it up the price was far more then what I saw online. He then told me they don’t have that deal at that location. My problem is if the price was different from the one online then why not say that on the phone? Why not confirm the price after I placed the order? I still paid for my order but I was extremely disappointed. When I asked why he never told me on the phone the actual price or when I kept repeating the online price why not tell me that location doesn’t have that deal? Makes no sense.

You need to learn how to communicate with your customers. Confirm the price instead of rushing me off the phone. He didn’t even ask what flavour wings I wanted before rushing me off the phone. Didn’t even ask for my name. He was rude and unapologetic. So...
