Just Sweet Enough. Diabetic Bakery & Health Foods — Restaurant in Calgary

I can’t say I’ve ever written a review like this, but I simply have to say that I’m very angry at a decision that this business chooses to make. I’m absolutely not one to rain down on local business, but holy cow.

I had a custom cake ordered for my son’s first birthday (smash cake). The process was flawless and the service was excellent. We stopped by to pick it up and upsold ourselves in $80~ of cupcakes, cheesecakes and other finger treats.

The cake was lovely. It was exactly what I asked for.

Where the review sinks to two stars was the results of eating the food. I had two cupcakes and about 6 hours later am having gas pains and farts from hell. I’m positive more is to come. I thought it was bad IKEA food until I came to see the other 1 star reviews here and suddenly everything clicked. On the BOTTOM of the packaging is a warning of over indulgence causing a total mess in your digestive system. I had only two cupcakes and my family each had one. We are all currently suffering. Big time. If the ingredients are this intense (Xylitol?), it should absolutely be warned to purchasing customers taking more than 10 desserts. Putting the warning sticker on the bottom of the packaging is absolutely deceitful.

I don’t want to imagine what my 1 year old son is going through as well on his birthday. Was he poisoned unknowingly with the same ingredients? I simply don’t know.

Maybe this was all an oversight by staff, but if this can happen to us, it can happen to anyone. Warnings absolutely must be given to all customers, or you should slap that scary warning on the top and not be afraid of it. Trying to not talk about a potential problem with your product is not the correct route in this one.

I purchased two different keto wise fat bombs. I tried to eat one of them after dinner but the centre was hard as a rock. I checked the expiry date on the package and it was 14 months past the best before date. The other one expired the previous month. I brought them in to show the lady that sold them to me the day before and she looked up the transaction from the day before and told me I got them on a discount!!!! She told me that she knew they were outdated. I said that wasn't acceptable and I don't shop around for expired products in hopes of getting a discount which in fact I never actually received anyways. She explained to me that expiry dates were just precautions which is mind blowing. I told her it was like trying to bite into concrete and maybe she should follow the expiry recommendations on the packaging. She didn't offer a refund or an exchange which is also mind blowing. -Knowingly stocking and selling outdated products. -lying about giving out a discount. -trying to tell me expiry dates are a suggestion. -not offering a...

The store name may be “Just Sweet Enough” but the staff are totally sweet, friendly and helpful. I was so impressed with the selection of items there and the baked goods looked absolutely heavenly and I’m told taste even better than they look.

To the individual who gave one star. Shame on you. The customer service is among the best I’ve encountered. Maybe the bar that you’ve set is unattainable.

The little store is a delightful treasure where you will find a variety of sugar-free coffee and mixed drink syrups, such as Jordan’s Skinny syrup and DaVinci, reasonably priced. There are many Walden Farms products such as zero calorie dressings and syrups. For those on keto or low carb diets there are many options there for you in baked goods and other delightful surprises which I’m sure you will find.
