Phil’s has always been one of our families favourite spots, I’ve been many times at other locations, but this was by far the worst experience my family and I have ever had. Our service was baffling. Our server completely missed basic cues, and failed to check in with us throughout the meal. My kids’ drinks were left empty, and even when she dropped off condiments, she didn’t bother to ask if we needed refills or anything else.

As someone who used to work as a server, I find it disheartening to post negative reviews and try and offer grace, we are only human, but this was just too much to ignore. I haven’t eaten red meat since I was a child, and I’ve always had the option to swap out bacon or sausage for something else. But when I asked this time, the server told me she “had never done that before” and that there wasn’t a “button on the screen for it” Dietary preferences should be easy to accommodate, and this response was beyond aggravating. My entire life, I've never seen a refusal for a dietary request by a restaurant or any other Phil’s I’ve been to.

To make matters worse, the server spilled my daughter’s orange juice when setting down the glass, didn’t apologize, and didn’t offer to clean it up, she just walked away quickly after. We waited over an hour for our food, and when it finally arrived, it was cold.

This was by far the worst Phil’s experience I’ve had and probably the worst restaurant experience overall. There were so many issues that I can’t even list them all. Bottom line, we won’t be returning to...

We enjoyed a delightful breakfast at this charming spot, which boasted a warm and inviting atmosphere. The quality of the food far exceeded our expectations, with each dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The staff were exceptionally friendly and cooperative, treating us like old friends and making us feel right at home.

While the menu featured a limited selection, each item was crafted with care and creativity. The Eggs Benedict was particularly outstanding; the poached eggs were perfectly cooked with runny yolks, nestled atop English muffins, and smothered in a rich, velvety hollandaise sauce. Each bite was a harmonious explosion of textures and tastes.

As an added bonus, the coffee was superb—rich and aromatic, offered in unlimited quantities for just a small charge. This ensured we could enjoy just the right amount of caffeine to fuel our morning adventures. All in all, I highly recommend this spot for breakfast; it’s a true gem that promises a delicious...

Wow, what a great experience we just had at Phils. Our waitress Patty literally pulled out all the stops. Today is my birthday and I went to meet my in-laws quickly on our way through to Edmonton from Vancouver. I was utterly shocked when the staff came out not only to bring me a birthday waffle with strawberries, whip cream, and a candle lit, but they also sang happy birthday and the entire restaurant chimed in. It has to have been at least 15 years since I’ve ever seen that happen in a restaurant, truly blew my mind and surprisingly made a huge impression on me. I highly recommend Phil’s thorough breakfast menu and out of this world service. A family friendly restaurant with lots of privacy between tables so the noise is moderate, even when you’re laughing and joking around. Thank you for making my birthday so special Patty and the Phil’s...

My second time here. The first time was after it just opened and by far the better experience. Today, the service a little slow, the tables and chairs a little small and too close together and it took ten minutes to get ketchup after the meal was served. Very odd. Even then the waitress just plunked it down rudely as an afterthought without a smile, apology or acknowledgment as she passed our table. That is not good service. My Denver sandwhich difficult to cut with their dull knives, and a little stale perhaps. I've always wondered why some restaurants don't clean their doors. It always makes me think the kitchen is dirty too. I was taught that the front door is what gives people the first impression, so mine was not great. If I can see that in one visit why do they seem to be blind to this filth?

First time eating breakfast here. Ambiance is good. I noticed that mostly local people have breakfast and/ or brunch. Good for family, friends or business lunch meetings. Waiting time for food was fair, attentive and cheerful staff. Love the coffee refills. Food plating has definitely room for improvement. Serving size is fair to good. Food is okay and will definitely fill you up. Enjoyed the pancakes and waffle dessert. Tricky parking, I parked a couple of blocks and walked to the place. Recommended if you are wanting something new and tired of other breakfast places.

Terrific breakfast place. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the average breakfast is around $19 + coffee + tax + tip. However the breakfasts are large! I feel that if they had more options under $15 I could visit more regularly, and I don't always want a big breakfast. Yes they have lighter options but overall I wonder if they could trim a few dollars off. With that said, the food and service is always excellent so you get what you pay for and I do visit once a week.
