The Cube is a charming building that appeals from the outside and inside. However, donāt let that fool you. I lived here for a 12 month lease term.
The building has had 7+ building managers in the last year. Greystone Management is hard to reach and their phone numbers only go to a agent that forwards calls. Oftentimes you'll not hear word from anyone for weeks until you recontact.
The biggest issue that happened during my tenancy was miscommunication on Greystones part. Story goes; When I had signed my lease, my rent came with a 12 month incentive. Fast forward to the middle January, I began getting Small Claims Court warnings for Rent Not Paid. Once in court, we realized the Greystone Manager that created my lease had made a mistake with the incentive that was only meant to last 3 months. Thankfully I had proof of our original conversation, but I truly wonder what happened to those that didnāt. I walked away with NSF fees, NSF records, things I never had before snd will always affect my credit and future living applications due to their own mistakes.
Building Flaws: The elevator consistently breaks, leaving people, especially handicap, helpless. That or the elevator gets stuck, leaving a huge step down to get out. The parkade is small and a no numbers assigned system. You cant fit trucks in the lower half yet all the smaller cars take up the upper half spots. The trash room is always littered with illegal dumping (couches, furniture etc.) Key-fobs sometimes don't work, locking you out of stairways, hallways etc. Mail is delivered and just placed out in the lobby. This is the only place I've ever had someone steal my mail.
Overall this building charges the same amount youād pay for a bigger 1-2 bedroom apartment, better views, more amenities and better management. When I left, a new manager was taking over and seemed to have been doing better. My hope is this building cleans up its act, however my advice? Live somewhere else. Youāll regret living here like so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo im living in this building just right now. And i just want to let everybody know : just stay away from this building at all cost. Property company was suprised they need to mainaine an air conditioning system BEFORE a season. So the result of that awesome management is all the tenants are sitting in the aparts without any proper windows at 27-28 degrees and without any chance to have a fresh air. It just a literally hamam or sauna. If you will ask them to fix it - you will hear the answer "you need to be patient". Oh, trust me, tenants of this building are the most patient people in the world. Most common joke is about second elevator - property company is "fixing" it for already 6 months. Some companies can build a new building - but here they are "fixing" elevator for 6 months and nothing changes. They literally dont care about anyone. Compensation for sitting at home without fresh air? Of course not, just pay pay pay. And imagine if some person have a health issues - its UNREAL to breath! but who cares...? You cant sleep ? oh, its only YOUR problem! And just imagine how good will be to live here when they will not maintain a heating system as well! -30 outside and you have the same temp in the apartment. Literally a paradise! Trust me, if they will put a comment like "please contact this email/number" - they are lying, NOBODY will answer you and NOBODY will help you. All you need to do is to be a slave until your lease will expire and just to pay for services you dont have. So just mark my words - AVOID THIS BUILDING if you want to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't even know where to begin. I've lived here for 18 months and the building has had 7? different building managers. They are impossible to reach. Day 1 I reached out for building maintenance for poor water pressure, a broken fridge, a broken smoke detector!!!! and a few other things and 4 days before moving out I have not received any of it. Upon moving in, I filed a complaint about scratches on the walls, and chipped paint, and damaged windowsills, that was supposed to be gone before I moved in but I know for a fact they are going to blame that on me when I leave because I'm guessing the records they keep with their manager musical chairs is like a game of telephone.
Also while living here, the elevator has been broken at least once a week. My mail has been stolen, or just not received. Someone tried breaking into my unit. The fire alarm goes off way more often than it should. I put in a request for the windows to get cleaned in March 2021 and they have not been cleaned from the outside the whole time I've been here. The parking situation is a nightmare and a half.
Anyway, don't let the pretty pictures catfish you. I've been catfished. How...
