The owner/chef? Was very kind and sweet. My friend is Korean and she says the food is really good and authentic, so I tried it with her, and they were all wonderful! Cash only!!
I had the $9.99 combo and it was really filling; it includes fish cake soup, which I really like, it has enough fish balls in there and soup for an appetizer of sorts; it had Kimbap (which was huge and full of stuff in it: artificial crab meat, fish cake strip, pickled Daikon, carrots, cucumbers, a root whose name my friend forgot! :), and of course egg!); the Ddeok bokki was also phenomenal (I've had a craving for this for a while, so I've been eating loads, so I know it's good and my friend loves it too!), it had lots of sauce with enough rice cakes to really fill you up; and of course, the hodo gwaja which is a red bean dessert with pieces of walnut in it--it was wonderfully crunchy outside and soft inside with right amount of red bean paste and walnut, I certainly loved it! It is totally worth the money!
My friend had the blood sausage, or soon dae and she said that it was also really good! We also ordered bboong uh bbang and the filling was good (we ordered it to go and it got soft and soggy in the bag, so it's best to leave it exposed and let it to cool and get slightly crunchy before eating it. The wait was decent since they made everything when we ordered it, so everything was warm and delicious.
I already promised to come back...

affordable, authentic, and amazing food from a lovely mom & pop shop on the edge of chinatown. their tteokbokki is perfectly cooked rice cakes in a sweet and spicy gochujang sauce. all their kimbaps are comforting and filling, with tuna/original/spam being my favourite ones. their bibimbap (tuna) boasts generous portions and fresh ingredients. my partner adores their stir fried blood sausage (features a slightly numbing spice and sautéed onions and cabbage) and their bungeo-ppang (fish shaped pastry filled with either custard or red bean) are the perfect sweet and soft end to a very pleasant dining experience.

Read moreThis is my favourite place in Calgary to get kimbap . The kimbap is consistently the same every time, and is always made fresh and ready in less than 15 minutes. The prices have remained low over the years even with rising food costs which I appreciate. Personally I don’t enjoy the other menu items as much, but can vouch for their kimbap and blood sausage. My personal favourite is the tuna kimbap and the spam kimbap. You can also get the yummy combo that includes the kimbap, tteokbokki, custard filled fish shaped custard bun, and soup (super filling and hits all the right spots).
