Absolutely awful place. Came here last night after work with my coworkers and boyfriend. First off, everything is dirty. The stairs were disgusting, had food on them, smelled awful but tried to keep an open mind. Our server was absolutely awful. Our server was an older woman. She was yelling at us and gave us so much attitude about us splitting the bill. Maybe she’s new and didn’t understand how to split them, im not sure. But that’s not our fault, and splitting up the bill with seat numbers is pretty standard in every restaurant. When the servers dropped off our food they just put it on the table, didn’t say a word and just left so there was confusion on what it was. We tried asking for hot sauce and the server didn’t even acknowledge us. One girl I was with hadn’t ordered yet, she was brought a menu and our server didn’t come back once to take her order, so she didn’t get to eat anything. The server didn’t come back to fill waters, ask if everything is tasting ok, nothing. She was extremely rude. The worst part was when it was time to pay. She was confused on our bills and was yelling at us in the restaurant when we were very clear on what everyone had. She was extremely rude and ignorant. My one friend paid first and didn’t tip because the service was so awful. Our server stared at her hitting no tip and she said “the tip isn’t included” and was making a huge fuss that none of us tipped. We are all servers so we do that for a living. We tried to explain to her nicely that being tipped is not a right, it is a luxury which you have to earn. She then went on to say “you tip everywhere else, why not the chinese restaurant?” suggesting that it was about race when it absolutely was not. It was due to the awful service and she did not deserve a tip. It was extremely out of pocket that she tried to make it about race when it had nothing to do with that. She then tried to tell us that we “didn’t pay” just because we didn’t tip. She explained how she has to pay the kitchen which I understand but that isn’t our issue. We were all being very kind and explained to her why we didn’t and she got so mad, waved us off and walked away. I have never in my life experienced service that awful and that’s extremely embarrassing for the restaurant. I would understand if she was (internally) upset from no tip if she gave half decent service but it was awful. She was rude, inconsiderate, didn’t check on us once, she was yelling at us, and honestly made our dining experience awful. I will never be back, I would never recommend this place to anyone. I would rate this place...
Read moreOne of the best Chinese restaurant in Calgary. Come on the name alone is Very catchy. I went to U and me last night for late midnight dinner & really enjoyed myself. The server asked me if I wanted to set three different tables,I was like okay.I was ordering the food.I called a server every 3 minutes for questions about the menu. One of my rules when I’m in a restaurant, don’t be shy & get your food the way you want.Google search U and me,from the menu the name of the food and the picture will show up,you’ll have a good understanding what it looks like.dont just order some random food, truly understand the menu.I ordered 3 items Cantonese fried noodles chicken of course I don’t eat pork price $13.95 dollar.I really enjoyed that one Dash it was so delicious I can’t describe it.The second item I ordered was stir Fried beef with Black bean sauce price $14.95 Dollar. The third item I got was Fried shrimp spring price $6.55 Dollar. I also got ginger pop $2.95. It’s courtesy you you give a tip,I just did 15% came to $6.05 Dollar. I paid a total for GST $1.92 Dollar. My grand total for my dinner was $46.37 Dollar.I was by myself,my meal is good for at least 2 1/2 people. It was so much food for that price I was so impressed and happy at the same time. When ordering ask them how much quantity each item because mine was a lot for that affordable price. The tables are set for the customers. The atmosphere was very warm and peaceful. Decoration of the restaurant is really beautiful,if you have love for Chinese culture you will be pleased.Just please ask questions when you’re ordering don’t be shy and leave with angry. No one can read our mind. The more questions you ask about the menu and how something taste like and quantity. The better the experience will be.I start going there when I was 16 with my old friends. They used to do all the ordering all the times. I was very clueless about Chinese food a decade ago. Now I’m like a pro it’s awesome.I truly recommend this restaurant. They’re open daily 8:00am to 4:00am come on that’s incredible. Sorry you don’t get a lollypop when you pay.I was...
Read moreWARNING! Do NOT dine here! As absurd as this sounds my experience at this place was the WORST! Customer service was terrible. Service was very slow with the food (30 mins for one dish to arrive and it was 4 shrimp dumplings). Don’t get me started with the servers attitudes, very rude. First, they placed down our teapots aggressively, spilling hot tea everywhere on the table, did not clean it up. Second, servers were not accommodating. My friend asked for water and it took them an hour, almost done our meal to NOT even give us water. So then, she started raising her hand to let them know, and the server yelled across the restaurant “I’M COMING!!” (which by the way she never came with the water). To be reasonable you might be wondering if it was busy, it wasn’t. They prior the people who calls in for the VIP section leaving no attendants left for the people who are in the local.
Food was mid, tasted greasy. The only part that was good was their tea. Not much to say about their food because it WASN’T to “die” for.
Might I remind you that their service was terrible and the servers WILL force you to tip them after their neglect. All these reviews are true THEY WILL FORCE YOU TO TIP. These people will stare at you while you pay to SEE if you would leave them tip, but once you press that “skip” button they’d grab the transaction machine saying “TIP IS NOT INCLUDED IN YOUR BILL! YOU HAVE TO PAY TIP BECAUSE I HAVE TO PAY EVERYBODY!” Trust me when I tell you I know how tip works in the food industry from experience, but it’s also not supposed to be forced. I did not pay tip to these people no matter how many times they cancelled my transaction. You guys did not earn it....
