Sushi AOI — Restaurant in Calgary

Came here on the weekend to try the lunch set as advertised on instagram. Was disappointed to learn that it's only offered during weekdays, though nothing on social media mentioned that. I should have asked before I sat down, but I was still willing to give it a go. The food was VERY average, it wasn't bad but also not anything special. The service was sort of below average with the server just taking the order and bringing the food, but not really checking on us or refilling water. And it took us a while to finally be able to ask for our bill since the server also never walked by as we were placed in the corner.

Needless to say, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat here as this was quite far for me but I had an appointment in the area so I took the opportunity to try it out. But this was in downtown so there are many more options to choose from and this wouldn't particularly be my first choice...

Came in during the dinner hour on a Thursday evening. There were about 5 other tables dining in so not too busy, but food delivery/pickup seemed non-stop while I was there! Was greeted and seated right away; service by the Korean staff was friendly, attentive and welcoming. Food ordered: Yuzu lemonade was refreshing assorted Tempura - under the delicate yet crunchy batter were tasty pieces of prawn, green beans, squash, and sweet potato Tuna Sashimi was sliced with precision served on a bed of ice; tasted fresh and meaty Tonkatsu Ramen - noodles were the right amount of chewy, pork added some savoury saltiness to complement the broth, corn, sprouts, spring onions and seaweed. with the ample sized servings, the chefs graciously threw in an additional tuna nigiri which tasted great! MMMMMM you know i LOVE ramen!!!!!! i would definitely come back if this place had parking near by. it was really hard to find parking since it was a busy street.

i got the ramen lunch box, with the miso base, and let me tell you. it was the best, i mean the BEST. i could not stop drinking the soup as it was so addicting, i could not stop myself😆. the portion is also really reasonable, it was enough to fill my stomach.

we aldo got some sushi on the side. one of them was called ‘special AOI rolls’ and the other was called ‘salmon tempura roll’? i forgot unfortunately, but they were really delicious, im personally more of a raw salmon person, but this was also really nice!!

i would come back here anytime since its in downtown, and the street is nice to walk around after eating to...
