We had a terrible experience. This was our first time here. We booked a reservation for my 22nd birthday. We were so so excited as we heard good things. We were 5 minutes early to our reservation as we walked all the way from Porch on 17th ave(10/10 experience). They sat us right beside the door at an extremely uncomfortable low table(I may as well have been sitting on the ground). I am someone who never complains and but we asked to switch table as we were so cold from the opening and closing of the front door and uncomfortable. She told us this is standard seating and a booth requires a party of 12 (we had a party of 4) and should have specified in the comments (keep in mind all the booths around us had only 4-6 people max). She said there were no open booths. I then asked about an open booth behind us and the waitress replied you do not have a party of 12. We waited 20 minutes for shots and my friend got the wrong drink twice. One of the girls in my group wanted a nonalcoholic drink so ordered the cosmo-not. I strongly do not recommend this drink unless you want all the moisture to be sucked out of your body in one sip. SO SO SOUR! Tasted worse than if there was alchol. After she managed to get that drink down she asked if they could make her a Shirley temple as we figured every bar should have OJ, Sprite and grenadine. Our waitress looked personally offended that we had asked for something as simple as a Shirley temple and rudely informed us that they don’t carry grenadine. So she ended up ordering a coke instead and our waitress said “oh I guess I can go do that for you”. Eventually we got moved to the booth behind us when which we were very appreciative for and it helped get our spirits back up. Did some dancing to the awful music. They’d play like 30ish seconds of a song then a DJ beat mix in between which sounded the same between every song. Finally our ride was one the way who was 30 minutes away, she had to wait outside for an additional 20 minutes as we had to wait over an hour for our waitress to come around for our bill. I stood at the hostess table for over ten minutes trying to flag someone over. I had to get the bouncer and he could not get a waitress for another five minutes. We didn’t want to dine and dash haha. Would not recommend as there is zero customer service and not an enjoyable...
Read moreWent to Sweet Loretta on the weekend to celebrate a friend’s 30th birthday. Had a reservation for 8pm, which meant we had no problem getting in and getting seated. Our reservation was for 8 people, 3 of which weren’t able to make it until a little later on in the evening. The 5 of us were super happy about our table spot near the dance floor, and ordered a fair share of drinks and food as soon as we got there. At a point in the evening where it was still relatively “dead”/not busy, an employee approached our table and rudely interrogated myself and a friend about where the rest of our party was, and was intent on communicating that our reservation was for 8 people, not 5. We explained that they would be there later in the evening, and that we didn’t realize it would be a problem if they were late. We were apologetic, but were met with dirty looks prior to her storming off. This interaction was extremely uncomfortable and confusing, and frankly made us feel like we were not at all welcome there. The employee was unkind, and had no feedback or constructive suggestions about how to remedy the situation that was so clearly a problem for her. If she had requested we move to a smaller table to free up space for other patrons, we would have happily done so. However, there was no such request or suggestion. Instead, she returned to our table three times throughout the night with similar negatively charged interactions. I could understand if we were just sitting there taking up space without ordering anything, but that wasn’t the case at all. Although Sweet Loretta had some really cute and funky decor and good music, we wouldn’t come back based on the (lack of) customer service...
Read moreWow!!! Where do I even begin. Once you get to the address you don't really know what to expect, but once you open the door into the place, you get this unique vibe that is quite memorable. The place itself is incredible, the decor is superb, and the atmosphere is simply cool. Once you are at your table you find yourself sitting in extremely comfortable chairs, and that is when the whole experience begin. We were greeted by the one and only Braxton, and I say the one and only because she has to be one of the best Mixologists in Calgary. She asked us what we liked and since we said everything, she asked "do you trust me" and we totally did, and boy oh boy was it worth it. She prepared these two complex drinks for us, that were something totally knee to us. Then we ordered the pita, hummus and the falafel and our mouth were still watering after we were done, it was absolutely delicious. We kept trying more and more dishes till we found ourselves devouring a one of a kind cheese cake, and at that point we had a food comma. Throughout the entire night Braxton treated us like royalty, and made sure we were having a good time. As parents of a little one you don't get these kinds of opportunities often but when you do and you get the kind of treatment we got from Braxton, Chef Guillermo, Isabella, and the rest of the staff (I could not ask for everyone's name), you feel like it was totally worth it and you want the night to last even longer. Thank you all for the incredible night! You guys have something special here, keep it up. You can see that I have over 500 reviews but I have never posted so many pictures, now this place is worth the...
