I would never recommend this place to anyone. We ( family of 5) walked in hungry. The lady just handed us the menu and told us to sit. There was a table with 4 chairs so they pulled another table ( had 2 chairs) and 5 ( 2 adults and 3 kids) sat. We are vegetarians so tried to customize our order with minus the meat! This was hard for the waitress so we let go- we wanted food to come quickly! We ordered only 1 kids meal and told the waitress the kids had pizza and they are not hungry! I was going to order the chuross for dessert!! We ordered soda and 1 quesadilla anyway for kids! They bring the food out and 2 mins into the meal while one of my kids eating- the waitress tells us “ there will be a service charge for kids, because we didn’t order for all 3 them! We told them we ordered Fanta and 1 kids meal but apparently that was not enough! She then told us that we can’t have the 2nd table ( as per owner) which she put together herself! She told us -If we didn’t order meals for 3 kids, they would not get a table and proceeded to move the 2nd table away while my my child was eating! She was not apologetic! The restaurant was empty ( at least 4 additional empty tables) with only 1 table occupied. At that point in time we didn’t even want to be there! We paid with no tip and then she asked us for a tip! The way we were treated- I would never have anyone come...

Date of Visit: Sat Dec 17, 2022 A quick google map search of "Mexican restaurants in Cambridge" resulted in an option that we had never heard of before. LatinoAmerica Unida. We were surprised to learn that this place even existed. We are familiar with Cambridge - but apparently we weren't as familiar as we thought. What a pleasant discovery to find this little gem tucked away. just off the main streets.

We got there just prior to them closing for the night, and oddly for a Christmas break. Lucky for us because this was a great find.

We started with Guac & Chips and a beer. Then we had enchiladas with rice, and beans. The food was exactly what we were craving. Finding good authentic Mexican/latin food in Guelph Cambridge area has been a challenge. We wanted the good old fashioned quality comfort food and their place did NOT disappoint.

The food is sensational, the atmosphere is very casual and like a family home. Everyone is welcome and treated just like family. The aroma was very inviting.

While we were there we asked how long they had been there - because we had never heard of them - turns out they had been here for over 12 years. WHHHAT???

We are so happy we FINALLY found this restaurant. We will be coming back time and time again.

Love...

The food was very authentic and delicious. Price was reasonable and, once we ordered, it came to the table in a reasonable amount of time.

Getting someone to take our order is why the 3*'s

We arrived and a lovely woman gave us menus and told us to sit anywhere. There were 2 other people in the restaurant. The lovely woman disappeared for almost 15 minutes. She reappeared with burritos for the other table and asked what we wanted to drink.. We just wanted water and we told her we were ready to order. She pleasantly said OK, I'll be right back...and disappeared for over 15 minutes..reappeared with water and turned to walk away lol.. We had to holler to get her back. She took our order and stopped to serve 2 people who had walked in a minute earlier, grabbed menus and sat down. We got our meal at the same time they did.

When we went to the counter to pay, a man came in and ordered at the counter so it seems that regulars know some tricks

Again, great food, pleasant service but you can't get your food until you order it and that shouldn't take over 1/2 an hour when we basically knew what we wanted when we walked in (chicken enchiladas...

Great Mexican food with good portions and a fair price. The atmosphere of the restaurant is casual with splashes of decorations throughout the dining area that give Mexican festive vibes. The food was filling and delicious. I had ordered the ground beef Chimichangas, not really knowing what the dish was in the first place. When it came to my table, it gave the appearance of a crunchy shell burrito topped with sour cream and guacamole. Filled with refried beans and plenty of ground beef, this made for a hearty meal. It would serve perfectly as a big lunch or regular dinner meal. I’d like to try out their soft shell tacos next time. They also offer imported drinks such as Jarritos in almost every flavour imaginable and imported CocaCola in the bottle; I did not check the if it was the cane sugar version. The service was nice and timely. The servers are warm and welcoming. We went during off-peak hours, resulting in plenty of seats to dine at and direct service from the staff. My group is already talking about when to visit next time. Try it out if you’re in the area and interested in Mexican cuisine.

We went to Latinoamerica Unida on a weekday late lunch time and got seated right away. The workers all speak Spanish and English, so you can easily order in whichever language you feel most comfortable in. We didn’t get water, but we ordered some jarritos instead. The food came in about 15 minutes, there were also other customers in the restaurant. We got the Tacos de carnitas (3 for $14.99) and Enchiladas verde ($16.99). They were both good and very flavourful, I didn’t like that the meat wasn’t tender though. That would probably be my only critique. The staff were kind. I noticed that the people beside us got sopas but it wasn’t on the menu, so we asked while we were paying. They said that they have specials on the board, we didn’t see it but next time we will definitely ask in advance because it looked so good! The prices were a bit high, but it’s a small business so I love supporting them.
