An incredibly affordable fine dining experience! It's a shame that they now close during the summertime, as I know tourists would really enjoy it - and likewise, students may appreciate having a summer job option after graduating. Hopefully this changes in the future.
So many delicious and well thought out dishes made with local ingredients, there is something for everybody here. The menu rotates on occasion, giving reason to visit multiple times a year.
Favorites would be the roasted stuffed poblano chili - so deep and flavorful with a beautiful chocolate sauce (and don't worry, it's not spicy)! Their mixed/cheese boards are always stacked with a variety of delicious cheeses and breads to share with a group. The salads are pretty simple, but always hit all the right notes in terms of flavor. Bruschetta is pretty tasty, though you don't really get a lot per serving in this dish. I did enjoy their roasted mushroom and barley risotto - it's hearty, and the honey roasted carrots are just so soft and savory-sweet.
One downfall they had with the menu was a lack of vegetarian pasta. All dishes contain meat or fish - hopefully when we visit next year this will change and they'll include at least one vegetable pasta option.

Read moreI had heard lots of great things about the dining room at the culinary institute and had never been despite living in Charlottetown for a long time. Despite the « hype » it still managed to exceed my expectations.
We got a lovely seat next to the windows overlooking the water and Victoria park.
The menu was the perfect size, enough to provide variety without being unintentional.
The service was excellent from start to finish. You can tell the culinary institute also teaches students about the broader service experience in a restaurant beyond the food itself.
We enjoyed a mixed charcuterie board to start, and a mushroom risotto and pork escalope for mains. Everything was delicious.
I definitely recommend it for a nice meal out. It rivals the other higher-end dining experiences in town (Red water, Slaymaker, sims, Brickhouse) both in terms of menu and food quality as...
Read moreGreat atmosphere (seeing the ice melt in the bay) & the decor, incredible service by the students & staff, and the food is divine (lunch). Prices are too low for the quality & experience. Michelin style experience from students. Each should be proud of their craft. Such a well run place from initial booking, to follow-up call/emails. That shows that every detail is considered and is part of the experience. We got spoiled today & look forward to more of...
