Unacceptable Racism and Disrespect at Sunwood Square Location. On June 17th around 4:30 PM, I experienced blatant racial discrimination and verbal abuse at the COBS Bread Sunwood Square location. From the moment I entered, speaking in Farsi on the phone, the cashier, Jane, was visibly rude and dismissive. At the cash as I was attempting to pay for my purchase (~ $40) I politely said “Pardon me?” after not hearing something she said, she yelled at me aggressively in front of other customers, humiliating and targeting me. This was not just poor customer service, it was racist, demeaning, and deeply traumatic. Witnesses even approached me outside the store to express support and encourage me to report it. I contacted the store manager, the owner, and COBS head office. Their dismissive and inadequate response reflects the company’s values and their failure to stand against racism. The fact that an employee like Jane, who feels entitled to yell at a customer simply for saying “Pardon me,” is still employed, is alarming. I am now pursuing this matter legally, with multiple witnesses who are willing to testify. COBS Bread must be held accountable. No one should be subjected to racism or public humiliation when simply...
Read moreVery concerned about the sanitary conditions at this store. 1st time, girl handled bread with her bare hands, from selection to slicing. I did not accept it and left.
2nd time, I walked in and girl was adjusting her ponytail with bare hands which she did not wash before serving me.
2 times, asked for thick sliced and got thin.
Ordered scone with icing. She put the box in the bag sideways and all the icing ended up on the inside of the box.
They DO NOT ask for your COBS card or phone number. She put my order through without the extra info and when I asked her about it, she said it had to be done before the transaction was complete. She did resolve that by having someone redo the transaction.
My favorite bread has now increased in price to over $7.
Staff changes regularly and not sure why.
Better training needs to be done.

Read moreI totally understand that closing procedures and hours can be unclear, however, as a customer and employee I truly believe that it is the companys responsibility to supervise and train well their staff in order to assist customers. I went to The Coquitlam store last week, I am sure this was my first and last visit, willing to know and try some of the products. My visit was within the business hours, I was welcomed to the store, when I was checking their options to order what I wanted, the clerk told me she couldnt help me because they were closing soon. Please don`t say that you are open when you are not and do not welcome me if you will not be able to help me. You should advise customers that you do not take order some minutes before the closing time or change the closing time. It was such a...
