Brew and Bloom - South — Restaurant in Edmonton

I was beyond excited to attend for my 30th birthday today. I made a reservation three weeks ago to ensure I could attend after seeing the instagram account. When making the reservation it specifically asked if it was for a special occasion, and I put in the notes that it was my 30th and my mom’s birthday the following day. When we arrived, the server asked if it was for a social occasion, I repeated why we were there and she responded “oh cool”. I don’t need validation for my birthday, but when you go somewhere that is designed for special events, and they take the time to ask twice, not getting wished happy birthday was a bit disappointing. The music was very loud and consisted entirely of Taylor swift and popular TikTok songs, which made it hard to socialize. Then, our server took a long time to bring our drinks, and then didn’t notice or bring napkins for a small spill or offer refills once she did for the remainder of the meal. She took our order and returned five minutes later to tell me they ran out of the French toast. I instead got two fried eggs and toast (which was extremely dense and I could only eat half). When she returned for the bill she asked again what plans we had later, and when I said presents and cake, she asked what kind but no birthday wishes. I was super disappointed. The manager had spoken to the table next to us, and had comped a drink because he had remade their first and took “too long” to bring it to them without being asked. So to be treated less well was an extra disappointment. Most places that specifically ask about special events provide a small comped item, and well wishes. Went here yesterday July 26 2025 for a Bachelorette party brunch and there was 5 of us. We booked a table a month in advance and told them our special occasion for choosing Brew and Bloom. Upon arriving there we were seated in a booth which did not have enough room to accommodate the 5 of us. When we asked for a bigger booth we were met with attitude and conflict. Once getting the manager to come out they could finally accommodate a different table that was more suitable. From there the waitress was very unpleasant. She was telling us mid pictures that we can not take photos with flash. Which is quite ridiculous. This place is literally meant for photos and part of the reason we attended. We had been to the downtown loaction many times and we thought we'd try this location for the bride to be's special day. When we went to order we were told we couldn't order from the appetizer menu at 11am, when we asked what on there menu was a good gluten free option the waitress snapped and said nothing is guaranteed to be gluten free. Even though there menu clearly states gluten free/friendly on certain items. I was able to have a salad accommodated for my dietary needs but I was very disappointed by the lack of empathy and understanding. It did not make for a fun experience. Ultimately our experience here at Brew and Bloom South side was mediocre at best and I'd avoid booking here for any special occasions as they will not go above and beyond for you. In fact they won't even give you the basic service that they promise. I would not reccomend going here until the staff can fix there attitude towards the public and learn to accommodate there...

Absolutely incredible experience at Brew and Bloom – South!

From the moment we walked in, the vibe was amazing — warm, welcoming, and full of positive energy. The place is absolutely beautiful, with such a cozy and inviting atmosphere. You can tell the staff really care about the guests and love what they do.

Even though there was a large birthday party happening while we were there, I was really impressed by how smoothly everything ran. Every table was still given great attention, and nobody was left waiting. The customer service was honestly top tier — friendly, fast, and super attentive.

Our server, Aaralynn, was absolutely amazing! She was kind, efficient, and made sure we had everything we needed without us ever having to ask. The manager, Darren, deserves a huge shoutout — he was so helpful, approachable, and funny! He kept checking in on tables, chatting with guests, and making sure everyone was having a great experience. The bartender, Stephanie, was also incredible — her drinks were delicious and beautifully presented, and she had such a great attitude.

Everything about this visit was perfect — the service, the atmosphere, and the people. It’s so refreshing to see a team that works so well together and genuinely enjoys what they do. You can tell there’s great leadership and teamwork behind the scenes. Overall, this location absolutely deserves all 5 stars. I can’t say enough good things about the staff, the service, and the overall experience.
