I ain’t naming names but I am pretty sure someone knows the name of this waitress who thinks she has authority TO EMBARASS CUSTOMERS
I traveled 4 HOURS I DONT EVEN LIVE IN EDMONTON? I have never ever in all my been so EMBARASSED, there’s a blond waitress who thinks that’s it’s ok to yell at a paying customer before approaching the bar, SAYING LOUD “you have to pay before you leave! Everyone at the bar and probably the whole restaurant, She really singled me out!
So me and my husband looked shocked, what was she trying to prove YELLING, first of all, I am a certified chef trained in Limerick, Ireland, yes I am a business owner and what just cause you look at me and judge me and think it’s ok to assume u can tell who a person is by looking at them! Hunny maybe you need a little more waitress training, discriminating two people without even giving us a chance to even just approach the bar, my husband was going to put his beer at the bar walk be back to the room cause I wasn’t feeling well, but hey she doesn’t care cause of her selfish attitude and judgemental, what you don’t think I can pay my bill, you’re making the business look bad and honestly this has never ever happened to me ever!
We were approaching the bar and she stuck her hand out and said “YOU HAVE TO PAY!” And looks at my husband “YOU CANT TAKE YOUR BEER TO THE ROOM!” Like wow guess I look like I don’t deserve to be there, you know me and my husband work very very very hard and I’m 4 months this was our date night! I will never ever recover or go back again, guess working so hard I don’t deserve a nice meal with my loving husband because you think yelling in the middle of a PACKED RESTAURANT TO PROVE WHAT? Thank you,
I went back to my room and cried my husband was there to comfort me! And hey who are you to judge honestly she should not be working there with that attitude, and what u think You “waitress!”can be very very rude towards two people who you think can’t afford the meal! I will think twice before I ever go out in public to celebrate our 15 year anniversary and love eachother so so much!
I will never ever show my face in that establishment again, Sandman West HOTEL is my home away from home but CHOP WAITRESS SHE WAS SHORT AND BLOND AND NEEDS TRAINING, place needs to respect customers,
Ya you have problems doesn’t mean you single me and my husband out and make me feel like I deserve to be yelled at as approaching the bar! I felt like she thinks I can’t afford a meal and what my husband taking his beer to the room are you mental, we are very respectful people, My husband had a sip of our beer and was taking it to the bar, I ordered water cause I wasn’t feeling good, but hey she didn’t know that cause she thinks it’s ok to assume we were leaving with our beer and no food but hey “YOU HAVE TO PAY!” And “YOU CANT TAKE YOUR BEER TO THE ROOM!”
I love this place so much but cause of her way of how she yelled and I am just going to stay in my room with my husband...
Read moreUPDATE: Bad experience paired with insincere rectification. After my initial review of the restaurant and my experience, I like most other patrons got a "message from the owner" asking to contact them for further discussion. Intrigued by what they would like to talk about, I reached out and sent them an email June 6 a day after my visit. As of this update (June 20) I have yet to receive any response from the establishment. This leads me to believe that the "responses" from the business is just a facade in order to give the illusion of wanting to rectify mistakes with no real intention to do so.
ORIGINAL: My culinary journey at CHOP West Edmonton, after an intensive yet enjoyable day of riding Monday evening, began with a disappointing revelation. Two dishes that I had set my palate on were unavailable, a fact that was communicated only after the rest of my companions' meals had already been put through for a while. This oversight in communication set a disheartening tone for the rest of the evening.
Sharing meals with my three companions, I was met with a series of culinary missteps. The steak bites, a dish that should have been a testament to the restaurant's namesake, were dry and overcooked, a far cry from the succulent morsels one would anticipate.
The mashed potatoes, a classic side dish that should exude comfort and warmth, were marred by an odd taste, disconcertingly reminiscent of bleach. This was a far cry from the creamy, buttery delight one would expect.
The beets, a humble root vegetable capable of offering a sweet, earthy flavor when properly prepared, were under cooked, robbing them of their natural sweetness and texture. The tempura vegetables, on the other hand, were overdone to the point of being dried out, a stark contrast to the light, crispy delight that tempura should be.
Lastly, the fries, a universal favorite, were served swimming in a pool of grease, a far cry from the golden, crispy perfection that one would anticipate.
In the realm of culinary arts, every dish tells a story, and unfortunately, the narrative at CHOP West Edmonton was one of unfulfilled promises and missed opportunities. I hope that this critique serves as a catalyst for improvement, transforming this establishment into the culinary destination it aspires to be.
Remember, this review is based on a single experience, and restaurants, like all of us, can have off days. I encourage the management of CHOP West Edmonton to view this as constructive feedback and an opportunity to elevate their culinary and...
Read moreI just have to say, WOW! The food and service here tonight was incredible! We have never been to a CHOP location before. My husband and I had been trying to find a great date night spot for a while now. It had been so long since we have gotten to sit down and have a wonderful meal. After much searching, we settled onto this gem, after reading about its steak cuts, drinks, and other wonderful menu options. With the experience we had? We are definitely glad we did! The service was spectacular, and we felt comfortable just being our selves. Bre was an amazing server, and made sure to be warm and welcoming. She was extremely knowledgeable on the menu, and answered any questions we had without hesitation. Had a lot of patience with us, and such positive personality! Ariel, the supervisor I am assuming, brought a on the house appetizer that was spectacular, after hearing this was our first time here, chosen for our date night. The service was warm, welcoming, and extremely delightful. It is refreshing to see and hear staff who genuinely want to be in their place of work. Showing excellent attitude, and positivity towards guests. The food was delicious, and we had a wonderful time reconnecting. Nothing like a perfectly cooked filet mignon, and a drink to spend wonderful quality time with your partner! We will definitely be back in the future. We are so thankful of the excellent service we received tonight overall with everything. This had definitely put a pep in our step, came out feeling satisfied and happy! Thank you Bre for your amazing service! And thank you Ariel for treating us with very kind, and welcoming introduction to this restaurant. Can’t wait to come back! PS- Their bread with brown butter is a...
