After multiple great visits to Taste of Persia, a bad review for this establishment feels out of the blue, but was merited in terms of service.
My husband and I first visited Taste of Persia back in February, and based on the excellent meal and service we had, decided to keep Taste of Persia in mind for a group meal after our wedding ceremony in September.
We popped in for another meal in March, where we floated the post wedding meal idea to staff, who were enthusiastic. Specifically, we established Randy as our contact, who worked with us to pick out a spot in the restaurant, and assured us that our information was kept in the restaurant's office - all we had to do was call back in August to secure our spot.
My husband called the restaurant on August 26th and 27th (once to confirm the reservation, once to connect with Randy who were comfortable working with before). We were assured that we had the restaurant would be prepared for our arrival after our September wedding.
We celebrated our wedding this past Saturday, and as we were commuting from our venue to the restaurant, my husband and I recieved a call from my mother in law, who informed us that the restaurant had no idea we were coming in - when my mother in law provided all possible names the reservation could be under, the staff member she spoke with informed her that the only reservation set for the day was for a woman who'd called in that morning. The staff member then proceeded to offer a table in the direct path of the front door, which was not what was agreed to during our two previous conversations with Taste of Persia. When my husband and I arrived to Taste of Persia, we were surprised to learn that the staff member my mother in law spoke to WAS Randy, the gentleman who should have known the most about our reservation and seating preference.
While the food for the evening was delicious, and the server for our table was courteous and attentive, the way the booking was handled by Taste of Persia's management has really put a bad taste in my mouth. While we did do our due diligence to confirm our reservation on multiple occasions, it should ultimately be the restaurant's job to record parties (especially large special occasion groups), and to ensure that accommodations are...
Read moreCame on a Sunday evening. From outside was not sure what to expect. Upon entering everything looked lovely. Asked if I could sit and they said choose any table you like which is empty.
Was served by Ghazaleh. That's when everything reached a new level. I believe when I enter a restaurant, I am their guest. When we have guests, we don't tell them where to sit. They just sit in the first empty place they find, correct? In fact I got treated more than a guest, more like a king!
I glanced at the menu and asked for some tea to drink and then Fesenjoon as the main course. Ghazaleh quickly responded that the tea was complimentary! Like really? I asked her why and the reply was "it's just tea", we won't charge you.
The tea served was exceptionally good. I haven't had tea of this quality before and that fact that it was free!
Anyhow, once I was done with the tea, the main course quickly arrived and for some things you don't have words to express how good they are. This was one of them. The rice was cooked to perfection, fluffy and tasty. The chicken was terrific was well. Once I was done with the main course, I was again asked if I needed more tea? Like seriously?
When we have guests at home, we offer them tea and then ask more just in case. This was one of those experiences.
The bill was very reasonable. For me the hospitality is only one part. If the food is not made well, nothing else is more important. Not only was the food outstanding, it was excellent value for money as well.
When i was about to leave, Ghazaleh requested that I leave a review. She did not give me her name and only did when I asked. Selfless is the correct word I guess describing this behavior. She only needed the words for this place which they deserved anyways. I hope to be back in the future to try more of their...
Read moreI have to be honest, I would not have thought of this place for breakfast & it seems not many other people do either. However a quick search on Google (breakfast near me) proved me wrong & I am so happy it did!
We visited this great little restaurant at about 9am on a Saturday & we were the only customers they had. I'm hoping this will soon change after people read this review.
Upon entering we were warmly greeted & seated. Our server was very friendly.
The decor is modern & the restaurant is clean & well maintained.
We ordered the following:
Deluxe Egg Platter w/2 French Toast - 2 Sausage, 2 Bacon, 1 Ham, 2 Eggs, Fresh Fruit & Hashbrowns Deluxe Egg Platter w/1 French Toast & 1 Pancake - 2 Sausage, 2 Bacon, 1 Ham, 2 Eggs, Fresh Fruit & Hashbrowns Meatlovers Eggs Benedict - 2 Perfectly Poached Eggs, Sausage, Egg, Ham, Hollandaise, English Muffin & Hashbrowns
Their portions are generous & everything was well prepared & delicious. The Platter is easily shared by 2 people or good for one very hungry teenage boy.
I love how their breakfast comes with fresh fruit & their hasbrowns which are more like potatoes wedges are some of the best hashbrowns we've ever had. They were super crispy pillows of fluffy potato goodness! Their hollandaise sauce is 🔥!
Last but not least, the prices are super reasonable. The platters were only $18 & the Benny was $16. Talk about a steal!
I don't understand why this restaurant doesn't have a line up down the block. Do yourself a favour & support this local business! You won't be...
