This is a difficult review for me to write. I try to look at the positive factors in everything.||We booked a room here, then adopted an 8 week old mini Golden Retriever (yes, he is incredibly cute and so friendly). I called the hotel to add our dog, and they assured me that we would have a pet friendly room, and they would add a dog bed and some food/water bowls.|When we checked in, there were two individuals on the reception desk.|We had prepaid the room online, so only had the $26.75 pet fee to pay. They also added a $200 deposit onto my card.|It also looks like they are attempting to charge me the room rate, even though I prepaid it!||We asked about the breakfast next morning, knowing we couldn't take our little puppy in, so could we grab some breakfast and take it back to our room. The first person said Yes, the second person said No. The next morning I saw at least 3 guests taking plates of breakfast back to their rooms. ||When we got to our pet friendly room, there was nothing for our doggie. No bed, no bowls, nothing. We enquired at the front desk, and we were told they don't supply pet items any longer. So this is definitely not a pet friendly hotel. Thankfully there was a pet store a few minutes away, so we went to buy a dog bed, some food and water bowls.||Our room was extremely noisy. The heating/cooling system was very load, so we turned in off. We could still hear the HVAC systems from the rooms opposite us.||The bed, two beds in our room, my wife was about to get in one bed, and there was a spider. She is scared of spiders, as I am!||So, the other bed. The mattress on this bed, worst sleep ever. Every time my wife moved, I moved too, and vice versa. It was terrible quality, and we hardly slept.||The bathroom sink hole was filthy, there was a stain in the bath, and we opened a drawer by the bed and it was dirty inside.||I took the doggie out just after 06.00 the next morning, carried him back through the main hotel doors, saw a member of staff who asked me if he was a service dog. I said to her No, he’s a pet. ||The breakfast was OK, hot items that were actually warm, but no bacon (I love bacon), two of our party had cereals, but could not find any milk. so had dry cereals.||There are a lot of parking spaces at this hotel. So you shouldn’t have trouble...
Read moreJust wanted to start off by saying I have stayed here before and had no issues with service, cleanliness, or anything. However for some reason most of our stay this time around (3 nights) our toilet wouldn't flush. We had to go to the front desk at least 4 times for them to fix this issue. The first time a lady came to plung the toilet and the issue was fixed for a bit. However the next day we had the issue again and this time they just gave us a plunger to which we returned. It happened again AFTER THAT and finally they said they would send a maintenance person. We asked if we needed to be in the room while they fixed the toilet, they said no, so we left. Came back hours later to which the toilet was definitely not touched. So we went back again... a maintenance person came with a plunger, plunged the toilet, and basically said there wasn't much he could do if the issue is coming from a blockage underground. So he just left the plunger in our room. I didn't want to be a Karen and demand for a different room for multiple reasons... but I'm disappointed that just because we were nice about it; they didn't feel the need to right their wrongs... even though I literally told them how much of a mess it was. I did overhear a lady complaining about a similar problem... sounded like she had to keep coming downstairs to use the toilet because hers was messed up too? The staff was friendly, but not very helpful overall. Besides that whole fiasco the hotel was good for what we needed. Also was fairly cheap so maybe I'm just getting what I paid for lol.
Also just a heads up to anyone who's not familiar with edmonton... although the hotel is really close to WEM... it is in a sketchy area. We walked around there during the day and it seems okay but just be cautious. (The guy at the hotel literally said the area was dangerous when we were...
Read moreWell on the Friday night from about 3:45 in the morning till 7:00 a.m. there was a group of extremely intoxicated people in the parking lot behind the hotel directly outside our window screaming yelling fighting. We tried to phone down multiple times but the phone in our room was not working or just every time we phoned it was busy. I took a picture of the car even as it was outrageous what was going on. I did in the morning tell them at the front desk and they apologized to me and said yes they had sent security there. They did nothing honestly. The drunk woman even stayed in the car for the night music blaring with a boombox. So we tried not to let it ruin our Easter weekend and we went out for the day. Then we came back and our room had not been cleaned. The garbage had not been cleaned out etc nothing actually had been done nobody had entered the room. I then went downstairs because I asked for some coffee and fresh towels. Normally a towel would be good for two days but I had spilled a juice on the floor and had to quickly grab a towel to clean it. I just was most shocked that our room and beds were not retided seen as we had paid for two nights. Then I noticed that the gray vehicle where the fighting had gone on the night before was still there again. There was some noise about 10:00 p.m. but luckily it stopped. Otherwise I wouldn't have even phone downstairs I would have just phoned the police. Very disappointing as we have stayed in this hotel before and really have found it always to be clean and the staff fantastic but it was not so great a visit this time and it was disappointing as I had a friend here from the Ukraine and it was her first trip to Edmonton. Was not a very good example of our Canadian...
