The restaurant currently is offering 30% off if you pickup your order, so I decided to call in and place an order for dimsum and go pick it up at the restaurant. I was told over the phone that it will be 30 minutes till my order would be done. I got there 30 minutes later and my order was not done and was told to wait. I waited and waited and also followed up with the staff 3 times! And I kept getting the same answer, it's almost done. Finally one of the front end staff went to check and apparently my order was on the bottom of the pile. Really??? One of the staff couldn't have gone and check the first time I asked. I waited an extra 45 minutes at the restaurant before I got my order. Over an hour wait just to pickup my food. What's the point of calling in if I'm still going to wait at the restaurant. It wasn't like they were busy and there was no lineup at the door. All I got was an apology a vegetarian chow mein for $1 because I spent over $38. Still, I thought it was very unacceptable for such a long wait when I called in to place my order. The dimsum did tasted pretty good, so that's why I only gave...
Read moreIn its heyday, my brother had his wedding banquet here. Just last August, my parents celebrated their birthday together with the rest of the family. I guess this restaurant has become a familiar gathering place for our family. Here you can find dishes that may not be available elsewhere in Edmonton's Chinatown. My favorites are Golden Dust Crab and Creamy Lobster ... Just out of this world and worth dying for if you prefer Chinese style seafood.
If you should prefer dim sum brunch, I recommend Deep Fried Taro Dumplings, Lotus Leaf Rice Dumplings and Har Gow or Shrimp Dumplings. But do not get there too late as some dishes can get cold as they make their circulation around the restaurant in a dim sum metal cart pushed by a server. Just point out whatever curiosity awaits you and if you're really adventurous, a dish of Spicy Chicken Feet can land on your table.
Despite changes in ownership and management several times. This restaurant still boasts excellent service in a nice atmosphere. Prices are higher than elsewhere in Chinatown, but well worth it if you want to get the family together once in...

The first time, I made the call, only to have the lady over the phone refuse to give me the offers listed on their Facebook page. And she was not one bit nice about it either. When my husband went to pick up the food, she didn't give him the same attitude she gave me over the phone...
This time, their kitchen closes at 6. We ordered take out for pick up at 6pm. They made the food ready for 530, called us at 545 asking us if we're picking up. When we told them we asked for pickup to be 6pm, the lady lied and said they're making it now for 6pm... Also, we ordered a noodle dish only to get the gailan and beef without the noodles... We didn't fight it, but they didn't give us the extra chow mein that was supposed to come with for an extra dollar. The crab we got is old...
We'd love to support them more often because the food is good. The chef is good. But every experience has been...
