Famoso Italian Pizzeria - Jasper Ave — Restaurant in Edmonton

I use to love going to Famoso but the last two times I’ve been there, I was quite disappointed with the service. I like the food and the pizza is one of the best in town, I’ve been there today for the happy hour and the server she couldn’t care less , she kept pushing the regular menu and when I asked her about the happy hour menu she made a weird face and she came back after few minutes with two menus .. I know that their job is to up sell but not everyday is a payday and not everyone can splurge on wines and drinks , some people are on a budget and if the owners decide it that they want to offer a happy hour menu for the customers , why would the servers not want to honour it?I ordered the pizza and the server kept asking if I am sure , because the pizza is very small, but actually I wasn’t that hungry , so I knew what I wanted , in the end when I asked for a box , she said that actually the happy hour items are only for dine in not for take out .. very bad attitude, I wouldn’t go back probably just order take out , I felt bad that I even left a tip , definitely she didn’t deserve it , on the way out she pretended that she didn’t see us and didn’t reply to our thanks ..that’s the way to ruin a...

I've been to this location twice, I wanted to give it another chance but this experience was also poor. The first time we sat on the patio. The chairs were uncomfortable, and the food didn't make up for it. The service was very slow, and when the food did come, the pizza dough was very undercooked. The second time we visited, we decided to pickup two pizzas. When we arrived at the time they said the order would be ready, it wasn't and we had to wait 20 minutes. We ordered the Margherita pizza and a two topping, pepperoni and mushroom pizza. The box had sauce on the outside of it, and the server literally begged for a good review because "my boss will be happy if you give a good review." The Margherita pizza had burnt basil on the top, and the dough was undercooked. By the time we got home and dug in, the crust was too chewy from the steam to really enjoy. Our second pizza was missing the mushrooms, and the dough in the middle of the pizza was still so doughy that it was stretchy. It wasn't cut either. Myself and some girlfriends went out for my birthday, we went to On the Rocks but there was a hockey game and our server clearly wasn’t impressed with life so we decided to head next door to famosa and get something to eat. Best decision ever made! They put us in this huge booth with tons of space, which was so amazing. The servers name was I believe Isabella (so sorry girl if I got that wrong!) and she was so nice and personable, we all loved her. At the end of the meal to help us salvage the night (we told them about our blunders at OTR lol) they offered us gelato to celebrate, but everyone was full so they just brought me a dessert I was wanting originally. They put “happy birthday” on the stereo system and came over with my dessert (I didn’t get the gentleman’s name that was working last night but he was also amazing and very nice!) and they helped my friends sing me happy birthday!! I don’t go downtown much, but if I ever do I definitely want to come back! The food was 🤤 so delicious!
