Here's an idea to bring you into the 21st-century and provide a higher level of customer service to keep your clients happy. With as busy as this fantastic sounding restaurant is, the wait times are going to be for many a frustrating experience. No I don't mind waiting, but 20 to 30 minute wait and standing on my feet is not an option so I'm sitting in my vehicle wondering when my name will be called and if I'm even going to hear my name called.
Some places that are highly busy, like dealerships in a service department, gather their guests phone number information as a means to contact them when their vehicle is ready. In this 21st-century most people have mobile phones and use texting to communicate. Wouldn't it be really awesome To simply text your guests when they're ready to be brought back inside. I think you'll find most people would be receptive to providing their smart phone number for text purposes only and won't mind the wait as long as they know they're going to be contacted when ready to be served.
I'll come back and edit this review based on the experience of the service, the food and hopefully move that star rating up! I'm hopeful.
Update: Once you've got a table, the next wait in line begins to place your food order. We stand in line and our food ordered over another 20 minute time frame. The music is cool, the atmosphere upbeat and lively and everyone seated is devouring awesome looking food! It smells divine and my mouth is watering as I see the chicken being cooked and prepped. The friendly staff are helpful. The menu is busy too, but we decide on half chicken orders, one medium and one lemon herb. Sides ordered are classic fries, peri peri wedges and peri-naise dip and spiced rice. Drinks ordered are classic freestyle and a glass of Sangria. Ordered a whole medium chicken to go. That review is moving up!
Update: Food was brought table about 20 minutes after order we paid for it. The dishes are beautiful and the flavour is explosive! See comments for photos. Medium was perfect and the spice rice and wedges are great! Don't forget that dip! Lemon Herb chicken is also good! Did I mention I Definitely recommend the peri-naise dip! The Sangria is refreshing and the selection of soda is perfect. Wanted to buy a bottle of peri-peri but it's sold out...not surprising, but It can be purchased at Safeway, Superstore and Walmart. The only two minor glitches was the server forgot the Sangria, so I asked for it again at the order counter and it came. Also forgot the whole chicken order, but a reminder and it came by the time we had devoured our plates! Keep your receipt!
Overall, the wait is worth it! You won't be disappointed in the flavour bursting with every bite. Slow it down and enjoy every morsel! 4.5 out 5! Text notifications and not missing ordered items without a reminder would have earned 5 stars! Will be back and...
Read moreIt was roughly around 4.15 time on Sunday 3 December 2021.We were driving home and stopped by to have some chicken. Our order was an appetizer, one peri chicken sandwich with side , two orders of chicken legs with sides and one order of double chicken legs with side. it was our first visit at the particular location though we do order through skip the dishes . We were served he food and my kid, wife and myself were not much happy with the chicken served and found the chicken to be bit chewy. and told my wife that i should have had asked them to cook it well done. We all ate the sides and had some part of chicken and left it unfinished but had one full leg leftover and decided to take it home so grabbed a box from counter and packed the chicken.
When i started to eat the chicken at home i realized that the chicken is raw and bloody in thigh. I did take some pictures and put it back in the box and saved in the freezer. next day i had uneasy stomach and felt as if i had mild food poisoning. By next day my stomach was much better and called the restaurant little after 12 noon where a staff member picked up the phone and i requested him that i wish to talk to the manager and on asking as in what regard i explained the reason. I told him that i m saving the chicken in the freezer and can bring it in the store and show to your manager if required. he took my number and assured that the manager is busy and i will be called later when the manager would get some time.
Since then i have not received any call. I normally travel for work and do not have much time to follow up.
After not hearing from Restaurant manager i did write an email to Nandos Canada after 10 days and received a quick response that I will be contacted but no one has contacted me as yet.
I am attaching some pictures of raw chicken and have it still saved in the freezer and am willing to bring it back to restaurant management if they wish to see it.
Very poor experience with food and...
Read moreThe food has been consistently declining every time we have gone here. I have had their chicken sandwich many many times, in many different cities and even countries. Never has it been as bad as at this location. I always order the one with chicken breast, because that is what I prefer (currently it's called 'Nandocas choice'). Every time I have ordered it lately it has come out with the most slimy chewy (skin on) chicken thighs on it instead of what is on the menu which is chicken breast. The last time I got it I just ended up eating the bun because the chicken was actually just inedible. The Peri-Peri fries also came out undercooked and cold.
A few months ago we visited here and it was really busy (I want to say it was Father's Day if I remember correctly) they had a manager that was definitely on top of everything, she had everyone working hard, she was nice to the staff, and she was even out clearing/cleaning tables herself if I remember correctly. It stuck with me because as a customer and someone who worked in restaurants when I was younger, this was a great example of positive leadership. It was truly reflected in the service and the food quality. Everything came out hot and perfect even though it is one of the busiest times I have ever been to a Nando's.
Management has clearly changed since then because the manager that was in there the last time we were there (3 weeks ago or so) did not care about any of the customers. He was chatting with the young staff and joking around, the young staff were out chatting with their friends/boyfriends who were there to pick them up even though there were multiple dirty tables and the washroom was a mess. The restaurant was not even busy, there was maybe 7-8 tables with people at them in the whole restaurant. This location needs a...
