My review is based on the experience I had late Thursday night. I walked up to this branch sometime around 10:30pm - 11pm.

When I reached the front door, the sign on the door said they were open till midnight. However, the door was locked, and no one was dining in, and a drive thru customer was being served.

So I walk up to the drive thru window, and I ask the the trio of mean ladies working the following;

1 Is dine in open? If yes, open the door please....?

If dine in is closed, am I allowed to order from the drive thru window, given that I'm on foot, not in a vehicle?

They all looked at each other and started just talking to each other, either in Tagalog or Visaya. After a short period of deliberation, the verdict was "WE CLOSED"

I retorted by pointing out that it was still not midnight. In addition, right before I walked up, they had just finished serving a drive thru customer.

Their counterargument was Make a loud tsk Further deliberation in their language Close the drive thru window and avoid eye contact after that

It's not a big deal to me that they left me hungry, as I was fine that same night, after I ate from another place. I would have just made a cheesy promise to never go that branch again, and forgot about the incident.

The big deal was the insult, frustration, and the dehumanizing attitude of treating a human like...a solar eclipse? Stay indoors, don't look, and if u must look, make sure u look thru...

My work crew and I always stop at this Popeyes on our way home late at night after our shift. When the manager (or a select few) of his staff are on shift they are super friendly and welcoming and accommodating. However, our visit tonight was the exact opposite.

Yes I understand we came in close to closing but instead of greeting us, the staff behind the counter looked at us and walked away. Then after watching us from the back they finally came forward to tell us they only had sandwiches left and would not make anything fresh. So ok, the large group of us ordered only what they had ready but since they wouldn’t even let us eat in the restaurant as usual while they cleaned up we stood outside to find out they screwed up some of the orders and things were missing.

Then on top of the terrible customer service and incorrect orders I went to use the washroom while we waited for the food (and this is a washroom that had the sign on that it was just cleaned) when in fact wasn’t cleaned and had absolutely no toilet paper on any...

I have loved Popeyes chicken ever since they opened in Edmonton. I tried the wings yesterday and was greatly disappointed. First I was told of a 10 minute wait for wing orders. The place was empty (2:45 pm) I ordered 12 wings and a small fries. The order clerk said I need to order pop or they would charge me more. I don't drink pop so why should my fries increase in cost. So I said I'll avoid paying more for the fries, order a pop, and dump it on the ground. She said they could keep the pop but I still need to order. 10 minutes later she brought the order to my car. I got out and promptly poured the pop on the ground. I opened the wings 5 minutes later to find SOGGY without a hint of crispy. Grossly overcooked and completely saturated in hotsauce and the garlic Parm sauce. I threw them out. Now I know what a 10 minute wait in an empty restaurant is for. Worst experience ever at Popeyes....

Highly overrated chicken sandwich -- really to no fault of Popeye's, but certainly to the fault of the Internet hype train. The fried chicken itself is very good: super light and crispy breading and hot and juicy chicken; however, the spice is lacking, the seasoning on the chicken is far too salty, and the overall combination of flavours is just... ok. In other words, the overall package leaves a lot to be desired. At the end of the day, Popeyes is just another unremarkable fast food chain. (Hot take) Mary Brown's, another unremarkable fast food chain, has a better chicken sandwich anyway. Edmontonian's! Do yourselves a favour and check out a local spot like Northern Chicken. Much more worth your money and without having to wait in a ridiculous drive-thru lineup!

Me and my family used to love Popeyes. The reason for the poor rating is that we ordered nuggets and fries, both came unfresh, and when we asked for a fresh serving, they basically took it, refry it and gave it back.. You can definitely tell from the taste and oilness of the fries that those were not newly fried which was more gross that the initial non fresh serving. Very disappointing !!! What's yet terriblly more disgusting, while washing my hand in the washrrom, the server just finished using the toilet and left without approaching the sink or washing her hand .. this makes me beyond concerned about the hygiene in this place ..
