Rigoletto's — Restaurant in Edmonton

Having had good reviews I was looking forward to this meal. I couldn't find a menu though, their "website" sucks. They count on social media too much, of which I have none.

The meal was bland and heavy. We went with a group and had what would normally be called a 7 course meal?

We started with a ceasar salad The dressing was WAY too heavy, but it was favourable. 3/5

Then we went onto a spicy sausage with roasted red peppers. It was good, but would be better in a pasta. 3.5/5

After that we went kind of strange. We had a large plate of vegetables where half were over cooked and soft and the other half were undercooked and hard. One half had seasoning the other half tasted like I was eating at a seniors home - NO flavor. 1/5

With the veggies was pasta and sauce. Again, lacking flavour, which REALLY surprised me for an Italian restaurant. No oregano, no garlic, just very bland. 1/5 A strange combo too - veggies and pasta.

Finally, to really make my stomach feel like throwing up was Chicken Parmesan. How do you make chicken parmesan lack flavour? I thought maybe my stomach was rejecting it so I had leftovers the next day to try it again and equally bland. 1/5

The atmosphere was nice but the bathroom was the coolest place in the restaurant. They have another large room inside that a party of our size could and should have been seated, but it was full of items that should be stored in a more appropriate place.

My husband and I stumbled across this restaurant while driving around Jasper Ave. We knew it was a lovely Italian restaurant based off the name and curb appeal. Upon entering, you’re greeted with an old school vibe. The decor is beautiful and the ceiling is embedded with stunning detailed crown moulding. This building must be historic because it had a classy traditional look to it. Our server, Alex, greeted us promptly and was a delightful person with his great sense of humour and kind persona. He was so knowledgeable about everything on the menu, providing suggestions on what pasta to choose from. The food came out in record time and everything tasted absolutely delicious. He recommended black pepper on the spaghetti carbonara, which elevated the meat in the dish. My husband and I agreed we’d be coming back and telling all our friends and family members about this place. We love supporting awesome businesses like this, with high quality food and service. We’re so glad we found this gem. I’d strongly recommend the ceasar salad, best one I’ve ever had hands down. I’d also suggest if you go, ask for Alex. He makes the experience so fun and has a wonderful personality. Thank you for this hidden gem in Edmonton. My husband recommended this place as he had been to other locations over the past 40 years. We called and made a reservation. We arrived early and were seated right away. It was very busy Saturday night around 730 pm

After a bit the waiter came to take our order and did apologize for the wait. He took our order. We were pretty much ignored for the rest of the night Our appetizer was brought - steamed mussels- and kinda slapped onto the table. Another server cleared our table after a good ten mins of the plates sitting there

Our entrees were brought out right away. Unfortunately mine had a hair in it. Another server took it away and another one brought me a new plate. Not our original server

Again it took a bit for plates to be cleared. We wanted dessert and coffee but it was almost another 10-15 mins to get a menu And several more mins to be asked. At this point we were done. We paid our bill and left We were credited for my entree, we did not request that and it was a nice offering

The food was amazing. Very delicious, fresh, and the wine pairing was a good choice. Prices were very reasonable

The service was not great. It was busy but other tables around us had attention and did not wait for service.
