If I hadn't pre-paid with my mobile order today, I would have walked out. As it was, this ordeal made me late getting back to work. I was there a few minutes early for my mobile pick up order, waiting at the designated portion of the counter. It was pretty gross, covered in someone's old dishes, but I figured the barista was just busy. Boy how right I was! I waited for almost 30 minutes to get my coffee and food, trying to get her attention. During this, the barista served the entire in person line and the drive through, including those who walked in after me. That is at least, those who didn’t choose to leave because of the evident wait. I wish I could have joined them, but I wasn't willing to have paid for nothing. Once I was finally acknowledged, I basically had to order in person anyway because she hadn't even looked at my order yet, so what is the point of your mobile pick up in the first place? It still ended up partially wrong, but I was unwilling to wait any longer. This is not solely front of house staff's fault though. Credit where credit is due, she was very busy and doing the best she could to manage. However, perhaps this place needs more staff or attention from management if one person cannot manage the workload of the cafe alone.

DISAPPOINTING experience in this location! When I arrived, I wasn’t even sure the place was open since the “Open” sign wasn’t turned on. I mentioned this to one of the staff, but she just smiled and did nothing about it—when I left an hour later, the sign was still off. I ordered a white mocha from a Filipino staff member, but I wasn’t asked whether I wanted it hot or iced. I ended up with a hot drink, which I don’t enjoy. I politely asked the other staff member (who appeared to be Indian) if it could be remade as an iced drink, but she refused, stating it had already been made. I asked again, explaining that I don’t like hot drinks and had just paid $8 for it, but her response was that it was my mistake for not specifying. I find this frustrating because customer satisfaction should come first. Would remaking the drink or even adding ice really have been such a big deal? This lack of flexibility and service left a bad impression, and I’ve never been to a café that didn’t make an effort to accommodate a customer’s request. Also they don’t take AMEX.

Stopped by Second Cup on Gateway Boulevard for a client meeting and it was the perfect spot. Easy to get to from anywhere in Edmonton — I usually take the Ring Road right into the south side and down Gateway, and it’s smooth every time. Even though it's located at a busy intersection near the fitness centre, it’s still a great place to have a focused conversation. The London Fog was absolutely amazing, always a great substitute to their coffees. And they use less of the " special sauces" in it. They do ask for tips(which I did) but they don't seem to do anything after the fact to make the service exceptionl - so save the money, they don't even yell out your name when the coffee's ready. They just wait for you to notice that they have finished it, so I minused a star. Highly recommend it for casual business meetups or just grabbing a quality drink on the go.

I and my family visited the second cup at Gateway Plaza, 10310 34 Ave NW Edmonton, AB T6J 6R5 on Monday 7th May 2017 at 12:30 pm. We had ordered 3 large New Almond Milk Mocca as Frappe instead of on Ice. And then after that there were series of mistakes, improper service and unhygienic practice of services started. I did mentioned the sales person about the mistakes that she is making and also told her that I am noticing it but she continued with the service. Following are the mistakes that they made. She started the order by make 2 frappe at a time in same jar which was okay but when filling the glasses with frappe she overloaded one glass and also had drop frappe on the counter top as a result the second glass did not had enough to make it full. She did noticed that but instead of correcting it she continued with the service and filled the glass with wiping cream. So here the first mistake the glasses were not filled in proper amount. Second mistake, before handing out the drinks to me she had to clean the over spilled glass. In order to clean the edges she used her finger and then after to cleaned the surrounding area of the glass with the counter top cloth which she used for cleaning the counter first and then my glass. when she handed over the glasses I did told her about the mistakes she had made but instead of remaking my complete order she only took the glass that was not filled full in order to correct it. Third mistake, I thought at least she is making one glass correct but instead she fillied the jar with few ice cube and little bit of Coco powder/ chocolate powder and mix the frappe from my glass into the jar and had it blend all together which was so wired as a result of improper ingredient that frappe was tasteless and was bitter. At that time I decided that I would make the complain online rather then telling them each and every time. Forth mistake, She now started working on the 3 drink. She filling the glass with almond milk and got busy with something else for a min meanwhile the other sale person thought that this is garbage and started throwing away the almond milk in the sink before she throws it completely the server did notice it and told her that she is using it but by the time she had already throwed little almond milk and also had added the tap water to it. Why tap water??? no idea. Though the server knew about the mistake that her fellow person had make then too she continued using the same almonds milk to make the third drink. This drink was also tasteless since it had more water then other ingredients. Not to mention, the person who tried throwing away the milk knew that I saw her doing that and also she just said Sorry to me and I did told her that I have seen what you guys are doing and how you are making my drinks. She said nothing and also did not corrected her fellow person to make it correctly. So basically my complete order was made incorrect due to series of mistake and and improper hygiene practice. Lucky no one was sick due to unhygienic service but still I thought you guy should be made...

If 0 stars were an option, that's what I would give.

I ordered a soy espresso frap when I drove all the way from Calgary for work.

The first drink given to me was just blended soy milk with no espresso, so I turned around and asked for two shots to stir in the drink, but that wasn't possible because of Covid, (even though they could have just put the shots in a to go shot cup) and so they made me a second drink but with regular milk so I STILL cannot drink it!

At this point I was late for work so I just left, I called to ask if they'd write my name down so I could come after work and grab a drink that I could actually drink without getting sick. (All second cups have a task book where at least my location write down discrepancies like this)

By the time I arrived, the barista said no one wrote anything down so she wasn't willing to serve me, even though I showed her the leftover drinks that I couldn't drink from the morning. And I had proof of transaction.

She sounded extremely rude in her tone and attitude as if she thought I was lying.

As another barista from a different second up location I am EMBARRASSED for her behaviour. This location need more respectful staff. Glad to know I "donated" $7 to your poor...
