Fatburger Gateway — Restaurant in Edmonton

I love Fatburger and think they are one of the better burgers in the city, but my experience at this location was not good. Upon walking in on a Saturday night, there was no one at the till and no acknowledgment. After waiting 5min a lady walked over and just stared at me, no greeting. I ordered, then sat down to wait. And wait I did, as it was 15-20min for my order. This was in a completely empty restaurant, with no other customers and no Skip/Uber drivers. I understand made fresh, but the time spent waiting seemed to be filled more with the two workers arguing than actually cooking. When I got home with my burger I discovered several things wrong with it. The burger patty was much too small for the bun; I ended up throwing away a lot of empty bun and wondering if they substituted one of the smaller patties. The tomatoes were basically mush, and I have no doubt that they were old based on the texture. Worst of all, the bacon was extremely undercooked and closer to raw than crispy (it was so undercooked that you could easily roll it up). I ended up throwing out the bacon and tomatoes for fear of getting sick. The fact that this cost me a little over $11 (for the burger only!) was already anger inducing, but the fact that I was asked for a tip (and did so!) for such poor food and service is the icing on the cake. I will never set foot in this store again, and their poor performance has turned me off Fatburger in general. It's a shame that they license out their good name to such poor quality establishments. UPDATE: Received a copy and paste response from management that they've sent most negative reviews. No acknowledgement of any issues I experienced or ways they plan to remedy such problems in the future, just a request to send them more info. Being served undercooked pork is a health hazard, and they should have addressed that. They apparently don't care about the health and well-being of their customers, only their public image as a company. Not only will I be avoiding this particular franchise, but all Fatburger locations are off my list...

📍Location: While most restaurants close early, I think this is one of the best places for a late night dining experience! This is the only late night Fatburger location open until 2 AM!

👥 Staff: Right when we walked in, we saw the staff laughing and chatting and immediately got a good vibe of the place. Not only are they positive but also fast and efficient. You could tell they truly enjoy making the burgers🍔! I think they were trying to make new recipes which I am very excited to try the next time we return!

✨Atmosphere: I absolutely love the retro diner decoration at this location. The neon sign, the signature red and black designs and the high stool plus diner booth just elevates the whole dining experience.

🍔Taste: I love the Red Hot Crispy Buffalo Burger. The sweet and sour taste married with the fresh crisp of the juicy chicken is heavenly. We also got a Bacon Burger Combo (forgot the name!) it came with fries and unlimited refill of pop. I highly recommend trying their strawberry lemonade mixed with regular lemonade 🍓🍋instead of your regular pop!

My family and I again visited restaurant for father's day dinner. Just like our last visit on valentine's day, it was a great experience. Food was really good, service as always impeccable, and atmosphere was relaxed. I was very impressed with the people working at this place. The gentleman prepared our food really top notch and he looked busy and engrossed in his work. A very sweet girl took our order and she was working last valentine's day as well. Frankly I do not see people like her, dedicated, courteous, pleasant, professional, and with a smile on her face. I deeply admire young people who take their job seriously and make a difference. This business is lucky to have her. I highly recommended this location. My family and I visited this establishment on valentine's day evening. The place was completely full and managed by two courageous souls. Both of them were busy not only dealing with people inside this restaurant but also pick up and drive through clients. They were both very respectful, hard working, and courteous professionals. Food was very good, properly cooked, and served to us in a timely manner.
