My partner and I had wanted to try this place for some time now after seeing they had a veg-friendly menu and what appeared to be some creative options.
The menu itself is rather unclear.... Only some of the items specify they contain meat in their descriptions. They've tried to remedy this by putting pictures underneath the descriptions, but my partner overlooked this with her order (honestly I don't blame her, I didn't read 'chicken' underneath her salad where the rest of the ingredients were listed either, so I didn't even think to mention it to her). She was hungry, so assuming what was in her salad was tofu she started to dig in, only to realize she was eating chicken after a few bites. Not cool for an eatery that looks to appeal to vegetarians. She was very upset. I had the 'Pesto & Roasted Vegetable' wrap, which was mostly spinach, despite not having any mention of spinach in the description. I didn't taste pesto or hummus, and there was no cauliflower or quinoa on the wrap. The wrap was soggy, the vegetables mushy and the dressing tasteless. All this for close to $30 after tip. I love seeing more healthy and vegan/veg-friendly options in our city, but this is a great example of how...

Our dining experience at Greenhouse Eatery on March 2nd left much to be desired. Upon entering, we were greeted by a young male employee wearing headphones, seemingly engrossed in his own world of music. Throughout our meal, we observed concerning lapses in food safety protocols, as he handled various food items without wearing gloves or sanitizing his hands. We spent a lot of money on our meals and even gave a generous tip.
Additionally, when we sought assistance, the employee was nowhere to be found, only to later discover him seated in a closet type area beside the register, hidden, absorbed in his phone with headphones still on. Literally not looking up once even while I was standing there looking at him. This behavior felt highly unprofessional and not conducive to providing quality customer service.
It's disheartening to encounter such disregard for basic customer interactions and food safety measures in a restaurant setting. This was a first for us, and unfortunately, it significantly detracted from our overall dining experience. I think it will take a lot for me to want to come back again to eat here and I’ll most likely be filing a complaint...
Read moreI really wanted to like this place . . . . Ordered the Curry Jerk Paella, You Jerk salad, and large Lentil soup for take out. I was the only customer in the restaurant. The wait and prices were reasonable. Got home and . . . no soup. Called the restaurant, they apologized (they did have one order to deal with after all) and said that the manager would call me back to arrange a refund. The food had potential - some real nice flavors, but was sorely diminished by the use of frozen fruit and vegetables. The cauliflower in the paella was mush; the mango, while a treat to have in a salad, was so cold that it distracted from the taste (nice dressing). After 3 days, I had still not received a call back from the manager, so I called them. The pleasant woman who answered arranged for a refund of the soup...
