Amean pizza donair and sub — Restaurant in South Industrial District

This local business will have me coming back everytime and it's not because their pizza was frigg'n amazing.

So I'm in Edmonton over the weekend from fort mcmurray for school and I have a crazy urge for pizza. Google maps provides me with some chain options but then I see this place I've never heard of and the people of Google reviews say this place won't do you wrong, and it sounds like a ma' and pa' business so that seals the deal.

First off the smell of that delicious Donair meat hits your face like the most delicious meat perfrum- and I'm a vegan, soooo (sorry plant Gods!!!) so anyhow, as I'm waiting for my order at 7pm on Saturday, people are milling in and out (perfection takes time y'all, I'll wait for that pizza!!) and as I watch a young fellow who looked down on his luck walk in, I see the two men behind that counter give eachother a nod and hand this fellow a meal on the house.

Bless your hearts, lll a regular visitor when I'm down south.

Ps, everyone who walked in ordered a donaire!!!...

This is by far the best donair in the city. Amean is in a strip mall on 34 Avenue in Edmonton. This shop has been here for years and continues to put out the best donairs in the city.

Folks may not realize but most of the donair restaurants sell pre packaged meats. The vast majority of restaurants are, in fact, selling the same donairs. These folks have made their own with delicious herbs and spices. And it's all halal. The donairs are also enormous. They pack in to your pita! The one in the photo is a super. The jumbo is monstrous!

The service here is incredible. They take the time to remember you and how you like your food offered. They know that I often like mine fried a little more on the grill which gives it some crispness and extra zest. And they are so friendly!

The space is average. It's like many donair restaurants. Tables and chairs. Lol

I cannot say enough about Amean. It will change your donair...

I ordered 2 roast beef subs and 1 chicken fingers from this place. One sub added extra sweet sauce and paid for it which was not in the sub, and there was hair in this sub, the chicken fingers were solid rock. I did call this place spoke with a guy and did tell him what was wrong with the order, he passed the phone to another guy which again I explained and I was talking so nicely to him and did say I do not want any refund or any food I am just letting you know so it doesn’t happen to anyone else. This guy got so defensive and started saying ( I have open this place for 15years and NEVER had a complaint like this. He was very rude person and then I did raise my voice and said don’t worry I will never order from this place. Thank u and I put the phone down. People like this do ruin business for others which makes us think should we order from outside when so tired...
