Wellington Cakes — Restaurant in Guelph

I had found Wellington Cakes online and ordered a bunch of macarons and cupcakes for my upcoming birthday and decided today to stop in and try some stuff since I was so excited. I got a salted caramel French macaron (one of the flavors I ordered for my bday) and then 2 peanut butter cupcakes. When I tell you that the macaron was the best macaron I have ever eaten in my life, please believe me - macarons are one of my favorite deserts on earth so I have them as frequently as I can and the ones at Wellington Cakes are just...out of this world. And then there was the cupcake, which was so divine it was absurd. The flavors were perfectly balanced and it was a really nice amount of icing, not too much which was great. I wasn't sure I'd ever find cupcakes I liked as much as ones from a shop in my hometown (that unfortunately no longer exists), but I have absolutely found my new favorite bakery and will be back probably before I even pick the stuff up for...

I can't say enough great things about Anne and Wellington Cakes.

I searched high and low for a baker for our wedding cake and couldn't find a high quality product AND a professional, courteous baker to work with. Everywhere I went felt like a tradeoff - one or the other, never both, and usually giant deposits and old frozen samples.

Anne took all the time to sketch out options for my husband and I, provided high quality samples with coffee and tea, and was friendly and professional throughout the whole process. I must have taken over an hour of her time during that first appointment and she never rushed me. Her prices were fair and the final cake wowed our guests. The top tier was delicious one year after our wedding (we froze it and kept it for the occaision).

Since, I've been back many times for cupcakes and coffee, and am always greeted and served promptly, and the cupcakes are seriously just to die for. They're always fresh...

We are so incredibly grateful to Anne and the team at Wellington Cakes for creating the most beautiful cake for our engagement party. Anne brought our vision to life with the most stunning vintage piping detail and delicate satin bows, it truly looked like a work of art!

On the day of the party, amidst all the chaos and excitement, we completely lost track of time and showed up to the bakery about 20 minutes after closing. Anne was out of town, but she went above and beyond by having her husband come out and meet us so we could still pick it up. We were blown away by that level of care and kindness, and we truly couldn’t be more thankful.

Not only was the cake visually stunning, but it tasted absolutely incredible. We chose the salted caramel swirl and our guests are still talking about how delicious it was.
