Snappy Tomato — Restaurant in Halifax

Terrible Food, Expensive for what you got, Worst donair we have ever eaten. We found this place as a last resort to another place that was close by but unfortunately was closed. It was pouring rain and we stopped into this restaurant without really looking at many of the past reviews.

There was a group of us so and we each ordered different things from the menu so it gave us the opportunity to experience a variety of the food on the menu.

The sauce on the donair was absolutely disgusting. It was so sweet it made it next to impossible to enjoy any taste there was from the donair. The pizza was cold and flavourless (based on 2 separate reviews on the pizza), the chicken wrap was so spicy hot it ruined the wrap completely. The poutine was OK - it was smothered in gravy and cheese (not cheese curd).

For the value --- it was SO NOT worth going there. We all regretted it and would never EVER go back... Front staff was friendly enough the back kitchen staff were questionable.

This wasn't a positive experience for any of the six of us and there is not one good positive thing that I could try and spin to make it sound better. For what we got and the quality of the food -- we felt completely and totally ripped off. We could have gone to the neighbourhood pub a block away and had a great meal (and a beer) much cheaper than Snappy Tomato.

Bottom line - They need to get their act together if they want to survive in a competitive food environment. I can't imagine giving them 1 star - let alone 2. Maybe 1/2 star ... NOTHING...

I order from here every time I am in Halifax. Each time my order is, in my opinion, phenomenal. I ordered from here last week and I had the best donair I ever had. My family and I spent the whole day enjoying the city and decided to order the donairs again. 3 small, 1 Medium and one super. One of the small donairs never even had sauce on it, but that was tolerable as we ordered extra sauce. when we but into the donairs meat....well, let's just say, we felt like we bit into Mount Edna in a spicy way. Spicy to the point that sweat was rolling down our face. I am not a slice fan, but my son can drink hot sauce. He even found it hot. I called the store to express my dissatisfaction, and the worker was eager to inform me they put slice in the meat. Go on, u would of never thought there was a difference between ground beef and donairs if he never said! He asked what do I want from this, where I informed him that our supper was ruined, and I spent a good chunk of money on this food to have nothing, so what can you do! I even suggested that it is possible that whoever made the donairs may have accidentally doubled on some spice. He said he was going to talk to his manager and call me back in 5-10 minutes, that was hours ago...no call back, no satisfaction. on to the search for a new favorite...

Horrible customer service. Walked in for take out took an hour and 25 minutes. For two pizzas a burger and a poutine. Pizzas were started right away when I got into the shop. I went back 3 times in and hour and pizzas and poutine were done and they forgot the burger which took 20 minutes. Piss poor job guys when I mentioned how long it had taken they argued with me. That's the last time I'll pay for food before it is finished. As for food quality I got an hour and 20 minute old poutine with spongy gravy soaked fries. The pizza dough was still partially raw and the burger was terrible. I gave you guys one star but you deserve none. Also like to note that I watched other people who came after me leave with their food in a quick fashion and I noticed that their reviews are from people of Sikh back ground much like them. Are they serving their own kind quicker than us or...
