ZenQ Food & Bubble Tea — Restaurant in Halifax

I’ve been to the Barrington location probably 3 or 4 times over the span of about a year. The previous times were fine, helpful young man and good food, but this last time will truly be our last. Firstly, the young woman that was doing orders wasn’t very good. We all ordered but she completely missed my son’s order and claimed she didn’t hear anything, but there was no one else around and the place was pretty silent so if she couldn’t hear him why not ask for clarification? My husband also ordered a water, which was completely forgotten. But the worst was when I decided to try a milk tea and she asked what “toppings” I wanted. I had no idea what the toppings were as they aren’t listed. So I asked what would she recommend? Typically, in a food place people will give you options that are most popular or ones they enjoy themselves. She literally just huffed and rolled her eyes and said “there’s like 20 different things”. Okay..? That tells me nothing. Long wait for food, and it was pretty flavourless. Egg was cold, broth was weak, no fish cake etc. Ichiban instant noodles are way better. Also the washroom was gross. Pee stains down the bowl that looked old and well dried. There was also droplets on the table where it hasn’t been wiped properly from the last customers. Will...

I’ve ordered their food through the delivery app a couple times. Love their braised pork rice and Taiwanese crispy chicken, both tasted very Taiwanese and delicious. Their wonton w spicy sauce was fine, better add some soy sauce and vinegar lol cuz it tasted too plain. I also got their Chinese style omelette wrap and bubble tea. I remember the first time I ordered the omelette wrap, which was super salty. I ordered it again this time and it tasted way better. I’m giving this place 1 star because I ordered a coconut tea, and it tasted like cheap tea with milk diluted with a huge amount of water and ice. The drink was unpleasant and impossible to finish, and they put very little tapioca. The floor was dirty and dusty, the tables had marks from previous customers. The air was heavy with an unpleasant smell, and the place felt stuffy. The server was rude, answering reluctantly and without greeting. I do not recommend this...
