Update on trying a different menu item:
After visiting and having a disappointing meal of boneless chicken I have since returned to try the bone in Red Marvel half chicken (small). It was a full half chicken (mix of white and dark meat) and it was delicious. It was hot, fresh, crispy, quite spicy but totally delicious. I would definitely recommend the bone in and am looking forward to returning to try other flavours. Well done!
I really wish their was a dine in option like in the GTA and other countries. Crispy fried and or sauced food like chicken and fries, cheese balls and tteokbokki is so much better served fresh and hot on proper serving receptacles rather than being put in a takeout box and travelling home. I will definitely still order from here when I need a take home chicken fix but for proper Korean dining I will go to local dine in establishments or try to hit a Chicken Plus in the GTA. Hopefully the restaurant is successful here and we get a dine in location nearby in the future.
Original review:
Friendly service and food prepared fresh. I have tried the boneless fried chicken meal and the spicy pork fries and it was ready in about 15 minutes. Important Note the boneless chicken was all dark meat chicken (which I do not like). Even if you do like dark meat, the original without sauce was kind of bland and not as crispy as I had hoped hence the 3 stars since it was not posted that it was dark meat and I feel I wasted my money on it. Definitely get a sauced version unless you like very plain chicken. I hate wasting food so I ate what I could but ended up throwing some of it away as I just couldn't eat anymore of something I don't like. Having said that, the spicy pork fries were delicious so I would definitely go there again for that. There is no dine in option and the food is made fresh so be prepared to wait a few minutes in the lobby or parking lot. Both times I went to that mall lately there were sketchy people hanging around the parking lot asking for money or hanging about but that is not the restaurants fault, just...
Read moreI ordered half hot shocking, half soy garlic because they were 20% off last week and ordered some cheese balls on the side.
Chicken was fresh. Size of chicken and amount were decent for price. Soy garlic was full of garlic flavour and sweet which was very good. Hot shocking was less sweet and had the smell and flavour of very old, stale dried hot peppers. It wasn't spicy neither. Not very good. Cheese balls were by far the best ones I had in the GTA. They were sweet, deep-fried mochi with cream cheese inside, soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Very good.
I didn't take stars off because of the flavour because that's just personal preference. I took a star off from food and a star off from service. Both the legs and thigh weren't fully cooked all around the big bone area. So the colour was pinkish red and meat was a bit raw and fat wasn't rendered so it was sticky and chewy. If the meat wasn't fresh, it would've tasted way worse and I could've gotten sick from it, but fortunately it wasn't that bad. The dried red peppers tasted very old, too. Also, the server put regular Coke in the bag when I asked for Coke Zero.
Overall, I was happy with my order but left a bad tasted in the mouth afterwards (literally and figuratively). I don't think I would've been this satisfied if I paid the full price though. I'm willing come back to try other items on the menu. I do sincerely hope that these issues would be resolved by then.
Also, I took photos of the undercooked parts of the chicken, but I won't post them here for the...
Read moreI only gave 2 stars because I had one thing from my order I was able to stomach. I bought the following and the ratings are followed:
Korean Beef Fries (Bulgogi) 7/10 - taste good but it has a lot of sauce and hardly any beef in it Snowing Cheese Fries - 5/10 I think it’s a preference thing - tasted coconuty BONE-IN [S] Yang-Nyuem - -5/10 I don’t think I’ve ever had chicken this awful. I don’t even know how to describe this, the chicken tastes old and flavourless. I asked for the sauce on the side and adding the sauce to the chicken did NOO JUSTICE.
The food took OVER AN HOUR to be delivered. I ordered directly from their website. I called twice and the person was very rude, first time was after 30 minutes, she told me 5 minutes. 35 minutes later and she rudely answered me to leave her so she can give the delivery guy my food. Addressed me as lady in a rude way. I was frustrated from hunger and I was not rude in anyway.
Please learn customer service and time management. I couldn’t imagine being in there and waiting an hr for food that taste so horrible. I spent $65+ and wish I hadn’t. Literally have to get rid of the chicken
Update: Copy and pasting a comment then replying with it doesn’t actually address the issue. Especially if you have a number of reviews with the same issue. Please actually put in the work and get people A Grade chicken that’s...
