Monga Fried Chicken (Hamilton) — Restaurant in Hamilton

I love fried chicken. We stopped by and an ordered strips and a 2-piece. Strips were regular flavor and 2 piece was spicy. The food didn't settle well overnight. Maybe was something in the ingredients list that just didn't agree with our usual. No idea.

Tldr: the strips were a bit soft, floppy and the 2 piece was ok. Both were a distinctive flavor, not one we preferred. That's all. It probably tastes good to others, not us

3 stars for food: at $30, the food was on the higher price, but since the flavor and the strips crunchiness wasn't right , it took the experience down.

3 stars for service: the person is hard working. It looked like a one person show, but as a result, there's no service. You read the menu, order in the self serve machine, you get you number called. Again, it's not service, so I can't even justify higher

3 stars atmosphere: it's very... rugged. It's a take out by virtue of lack of space. Maybe it's a 4/5 for take out quality, but even then, it's a rugged, low cost operation. I think it's fine, I just want the food to be clean and place sanitary, and I didn't see...

It is a good chance to have a try, but personally not recommend. It is a small store, and it took me 30 minutes to wait in a line to order and 30 minutes more to pick up the order. They gave me wrong order several time. The food is awful. The original taste one is okay, but other 3 tastes are literally no taste. I can't feel any difference. The chicken is also so thick to seasoning. The price is also too high compared to Popeyes.

Here are my recommendations: Make order number on the receipt so you will not mess up the orders and give wrong one to customers. Make the chicken patty thin that customers can feel more seasoning and more crispy. Lower the price. I cost 60-70$ for 4 chicken patties. The price is CRAZY. I can eat same amount in Popeyes in half or 1/3 price.

I ordered their three piece crispy chicken combo. The order took almost an hour. They were busy on a Friday afternoon, about three orders ahead of mine. However, a 10-15 minute order took much longer. Those doing the cooking appeared to be novices in the food service industry with too many unknown people standing in proximity of the kitchen doing nothing. The process seemed slow and less than organized. The food was reasonable. Slight sweet flavour to the salty, spicy crispy chicken. Novel flavour options to their chicken. However, if the kitchen is not able to get set up and start running fluidly soon, it may not matter. I hope this business is able to adjust. It’s always nice to have new...
