OKO Bagels — Restaurant in Hamilton

This location is also inside of a hair salon so I was a little confused at first how to get in untill I looked into the windows

I was really looking forward to trying these Montreal style bagels but I couldn’t really tell the difference in the dough from other bagels. The bagel it self is really good I did like the amount of “everything” seeds on the outside of my everything bagel. I got the smoked salmon bagel and it was really good lots of onions which i loved🥯

I got an iced coffee with 3pumps of caramel syrup. The iced coffee is okay the caramel really saved it tho. I think they just pre make the iced coffee cuz the lady said it was just in like a big cold jug.

I would have really liked to sit and stay a while but they didn’t really have seating as it’s in the hair salon and they just have like waiting room couches. So I feel this location would be great when waiting for your hair appointment or just grabbing a quick bit to go. It’s definitely not like the other locations especially what u see on Instagram as it’s just a kiosk type desk and no wood oven so I think they make all the bagels at the Oakville location and ship them out to different locations.

The bagels are great tasting. The only complaint I have is the bagel whole is very large which makes it hard to use for sandwiches. I made my kids egg, bacon cheese bagels and the melted cheese slide right off it and onto the plate. Egg salad and tuna was very difficult to get to stay on the bagel the surface to spread the tuna, egg, cream cheese or anything else the bagels is very thin skinny and hard for the mixture to stay on. I also tried to make add tomato, onion and lettuce and when i cut it in half lost most of the tomato, lettuce and onion. To say you really can't spread enough tuna or egg on it to meet your protein needs. Not something I'd purchase for kids lunches. They should really look into tighten up the bagel whole so they can be used for sandwiches without losing most of your sandwiche when cut in half. I will purchase them again if they start making them feasible for sandwiches especially with school starting soon these would be perfect...

Ive been a regular at this restaurant for quite some time now, I always order the same bagel. On one hand, the young girl with an accent is very prompt and amazing at making my sandwich. No complaints for her. however on the other hand, the young girl with glasses is very disinterested in her job and is always very sloppy to the point where my sandwich cannot be enjoyed because its sticky and the toppings are all over the outside of the bagel. She makes it very obvious that she does not care about the quality of the food. Today was no different except this time she forgot to cook the bacon on my sandwich and i bit into cold, raw bacon. and when I politely asked her to remake it, she rolled her eyes and I ended up apologizing for inconveniencing her. please consider properly training your staff about food handling and safety before leaving them alone at...
