We were greeted and sat promptly, despite how busy it was, which was great as my friends and I were terribly hungry and we were looking forward to trying out this place. I felt overwhelmed with the menu as there are a lot of options, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but I didn’t know what to order as it was me and my friends first time at Sankalp.
I asked about the all-you-can-eat feature they have, which I thought would be a great option to try out different items. The server wasn’t too helpful with the menu as I wanted to know more about the dishes being served on the AYCE feature. The dishes are listed on the advertisement/display, but I wanted to know WHAT they were (as in: what’s in it, what would you recommend, is it spicy, is it sweet, how many pieces does it come with, etc.). Truly, it felt like we were a nuisance to the server as we didn’t know much. It would have been nice to know what we were ordering. She gave us the impression of “Why are you here if you don’t know anything about our food”… As in, we felt unwelcomed. I guess this restaurant is for the “If you know, you know” people. I noticed that she was the only server there, so maybe she was overwhelmed and annoyed. So I brushed it off and relied on Google to search up what the items were.
After about 10 minutes of deciding what to order and searching up the items online, I felt rushed into ordering something. When we asked the server a question about the dishes, it was vague, and she gave us a lot of attitude.
“Whatever”, I thought, “maybe the food will make up for it.” So we ordered from our rude server. I ended up ordering the AYCE. We didn’t wait too long for the food to arrive - yay! The dosa was the best part. The Idli and Vada (i think that’s what we started with), failed to impress, i was underwhelmed. The curries were good, definitely had better ones elsewhere, but they were alright. I believe the other dish I tried was a lentil soup, I forgot the name, but that was also alright.
In conclusion, based on my first ever experience at Sankalp, I’m glad we gave it a try so I know what restaurant not to go to again. I would give the food another chance, but truthfully, with the customer service my friends and I experienced, I will not be a...
Read moreTried this place with family 4 people in total adults. Spend over $90 for 3 corn soup which was $6 or $7 which was horrible small quantity and taste very bad. 3 of the adults ordered masala dosa it was horrible as well it was super thin which couldn’t even grab the potato stuffing more like a papd sambar and other sauces taste very bad as well.
I ordered Panner tikka masala and naan which was suppose to be spicy. It was nasty as well I couldn’t taste no tomato base the naan was super thin as well the dish was expensive and only 4 small pieces of Panner.
Not sure what is happening but this was not worth the money never again will I be visiting and do not recommend anyone else either to waste time and money.
The review they have seem to be fake from friends or family because no way people be eating this kind of food expensive and tasteless and when leaving saw they won some best dosa or food if I recall like did no one participate in that because no way they can win with this bad, horrible food.
Please STOP ruining people hard earned money and give them proper food Like this was beyond bad can’t even express through my words
If you are going to reply and say $90 is good compared to other places you must be joking because other places have way better food for less money. Again for the money we have spend this was not worth anything is the point
I can give you 5 off my head better quality and taste but I am not here to promote other business.
Also, if your saying and claiming you put 8pieces of paneer please stop spreading false statements because everyone who has been there can tell you it doesn’t the super tiny pieces of Panner and 8 won’t even fit in your small container that you are serving the dishes in. If you’re saying you get what you’re paying for.
My friend you are clearly getting reviews for the nasty food your servicing at a high cost so you are getting what you’re serving for in your reviews
Instead of taking feedback and working on your food you have the courage to be spreading false statements about your own quality.
I would highly recommend no one to go there and waste...
Read moreUtterly disappointing experience. It's been ten minutes since I've been home and I'm sick already. Food was not prepared to order. Order of onion uttapam was absolutely smothered with mixed veggies and was moist to the point of it being inedible. I was hungry and didn't want to send anything back, hence just stuck with it. Bad idea. The coconut chutney tasted off/spoiled. I'm actually sick from the chutney as we speak. The mini idlis were not authentic and it felt like the idli batter definitely had another type of flour mixed it with it. The three chutneys that were served separately barely had any authentic Sankalp flavours in them, let alone South Indians flavours. Mysore Dosa lacked basic flavour. The two items that were bearable were the corn soup and the sambar. If one is coming in for the authentic Sankalp experience (from India), please avoid this establishment. It's just the name, the rest is barely Sankalp.
Felt like the restaurant was too busy and should have more than one server/employee on the floor taking orders, cashing take out orders, managing tables, cleaning, etc.
The floors were not clean and the bathrooms were unkept and didn't have any paper towels to wipe hands off. On top of that, the table had two small paper thin paper towels to wipe your hands if needed, TWO!
I've had some pretty terrible experiences with restaurants, but this one had to be one of the top ones. It felt like I just sunk $50 for a meal, only to come home and feel not great in my stomach.
Absolutely horrible experience! Will never repeat, nor will I recommend this...
