The Watermark Taphouse & Grille — Restaurant in Hamilton

Went here for our daughter's 40th Birthday on Aug 30th for 6:15pm reservation. There was 14 of us (I think lol). Our server, I wish I remembered her name (hence why I put in date and time so hopefully she will be recognized 😊). She absolutely smashed the service!!! 10/10. She was very attentive without being overwhelming, positive suggestions and explaining. My grandaughter (9yr) said she was starving and her ordered was put in ASAP and first out of kitchen to table. She never eats a whole adult burger but she did this time. I ordered the Salmon and substituted for a small side salad in place of rice. It was sooooo delicious. Some family ordered the brisket, some ordered steak and somebody even ordered the mac and cheese. There was not one complaint about anything that was brought out. The chef did an outstanding job. Bravo to that person. And the food came out quick enough that we all were able to basically eat together. Fantastic. Price was excellent. As I said , I ordered the salmon call my husband ordered the steak . He had two black Russians and I had some strawberry something. With tip it was 145.00 The only thing that I would change is the drinks a little bit. It would be nice if we could have had a strawberry daiquiri or even a pina colada on the menu. But there was no such type drinks. So I was a little disappointed on that. I wish i had taken more pictures. I would definitely come again to...

Excellent! Everything tasted fresh. I started with the Amaretto Kiss martini. It was good but rather sweet. It would make a great dessert drink. My husband ordered the soup and sandwich of the day. He said both tasted really good and he was very happy with the freshness of the bun and fish. I had the yorkies which were awesome and I was tempted to order more but I really wanted to try dessert. And dessert was worth it. I had the carrot cake cheesecake. It actually has pieces of carrot cake in the cheesecake served with a modest amount of home made whipped cream. If you think pieces of cake in a cheesecake is odd or unappealing, I can assure you it tasted wonderful due to the freshness of the ingredients. The homemade whipped cream had a beautiful fluffy texture with just a subtle sweetness. The decor and atmosphere is a chic modern. We had stopped in on impulse so we were dressed rather casually. Still we were accepted and served which I appreciated. In the future I will come more business casual rather than completely casual out of respect for the quality of this restaurant. Sadly Watermark is not in our neck of the woods so I don't know when we can return but we will...

Overall fine experience because the food was amazing and we were with loved ones. However, some really disappointing situations that absolutely could have been avoided. They set us up at a corner booth that could fit 8 adults. We were 4 adults with 3 kids, requiring 2 high chairs that they shoved at the small opening of the booth. They have a kids menu, so we assumed they knew how to accommodate. They did not. Secondly, as we were trying to make this booth work without complaining the waitress came over and clearly couldn’t read the situation at all. Was very pushy at the beginning and acted as though we were an inconvenience to her. Second time she came around, she only took 1 drink order and went to walk away and not take the others… didn’t seem that busy so not too sure why it felt the rushed. The service improved throughout the night and we made the best of it. Food truly was great other than brisket was shredded, when we were hoping for a nice sliced brisket.
